No tablets at all don't worry I'll ask pharmacist yes if you willing to waitnHave them done. so helpful and was so pleased got my tablets
I tryed to get an appointment yesterday I was offered 20 days later told to go to a different surgery? I didn’t sign up for a different surgery due to me not being able to drive due to epilepsy so limits me on distance which I told her because of this she said i’d refused to go to another surgery so I can’t be seen before! I was then told to call 111 finally the receptionist gave me a closer appointment after she kept insisting she hasn’t got anything closer for appointments?nI’ve had a receptionist hang up on myself as i’ve had to phone about missing medication which happens a lot the receptionist argued with me insisting I hadn’t put it on the prescription list due to this happening before I made a copy on my phone as a receipt as the drs receptionist blame the pharmacy for missing meds ! the repeat prescription system is absolutely rubbish why can’t this be taken over the phone like all other surgeriesnI am also constantly sent text messages with flu vaccinations and covid vaccinations I’ve asked the Receptionist not to send text messages to my phone as i’m not interested she said she’d would sort it still waiting mprobnmy friend was offered the flu jab she went to Yew tree surgery was turned away and told to go to the other surgery which she was unable to due to health reasonsnif there was another surgery in the area I would joinnif however you can get to see a Dr they are good I do feel rushed after waiting nearly 2 weeks for an appointment I don’t think you should be made to feel rushed the system is rubbish probably why it’s low rated the receptionists make it difficult due to not being helpful not understanding the needs of the Patient and being ignored their job is to get as less patience’s as possible which is wrong and Neglectful or to insist on going to another surgery.
If I could give zero stars, I would. The receptionist named Tracey is hands down the rudest, most unprofessional person I’ve ever encountered in a healthcare setting. Her attitude is appalling – consistently dismissive, condescending, and outright hostile towards patients who are simply trying to get help. She speaks to people as if they’re a nuisance rather than human beings in need of care.nnIt’s deeply concerning that someone with such poor manners and lack of compassion is the first point of contact at a medical practice. Tracey clearly lacks the basic empathy and communication skills required for her role. Patients leave feeling worse after speaking with her – anxious, frustrated, and disrespected.nnThe GP’s overall service and management are just as bad. Appointments are impossible to get, calls go unanswered, and any attempt to get help is met with incompetence or indifference. There is zero accountability and no effort to improve.nnThis practice needs a complete overhaul – starting with better training or replacement of front desk staff like Tracey, who clearly shouldn’t be working in a healthcare environment.
I am surprised to read the negative reviews. We have been with Yew Tree Medical Centre for many years and only have praises for all doctors, admin and nursing staff. They have always gone over and above the call of duty to help. Thank you Dr Alex Webb for your recent prompt and brilliant help. We have only good wishes for this surgery who are doing a brilliant job against all odds in these extremely difficult times for general practice.
I've been with the surgery for several years, and generally they've been very good with myself and my husband.nnThe new appointments system is a frustration. There is no way to book an appointment with a receptionist for anything but the day you call, for any condition including routine monitoring. I suspect this has quite a lot to do with targets set regarding the amount of people being seen on the same day, so I can't see it changing. That said, people who cannot easily have time off during the day and cannot ensure a same-day appointment, but need a routine assessment, are disadvantaged by the inability to plan any appointments in advance. Edit - I got an appointment today - it required a nurse triage first, and when I got to the surgery, it appears you can book an appointment in the future once this has been done. And the GP I saw was really lovely. So it's a more roundabout process.nnA second issue is the repeat prescriptions - I've not had so many issues with these before. Tried to order a repeat of thyroxine thyroid hormone replacement this morning, which is a medication I've been on for years, only to find I couldn't order this in the usual manner as it was due for review. Great, I haven't had my levels tested for a while - but nobody contacted me to arrange a review, and I need to be taking my regular dose in order to determine if any adjustments are required to it.nnCriticisms aside, the great majority of the time, the doctors and surgery staff are fab here.
