Very helpful staff, efficient, welcoming and a great choice of kilts and outfits.
Extremely Impressed with the online service. I had placed an order but panicked when I noticed the shop was closed Monday-Wednesday as needed my order that week My partner died unexpectedly and he is to wear his kilt outfit but had lost weight. However after sending an email my order was packed that day and arrived the next. They really alleviated my anxiety at this time!
Firstly, my 1 star review is not a reflection on the shop staff, who tried their best to rectify the errors that their warehouse made to my order the shop on has a very limited number of items in stock, but for the the way my order was subsequently dealt with. On picking up my outfit on a Saturday morning I was informed that I had until Sunday, the next day, to call them with any discrepancies. I called the next day to the let them know that both my waistcoat and shoes were missing. As I was traveling 4 hours north the following Friday for the event I was using the kilt for, Thursday was the latest I could pick up the missing items. I informed the staff of this and was told that my remainder of my order would be ready for the Thursday. I called late on Thursday morning to be told my items were not in the first warehouse delivery and would be in on the afternoon. The afternoon progressed without any contact from the shop. I traveled into Glasgow to pay the shop a visit. To be told that they still had not received a second delivery and because they had no contact from the warehouse at that time, were unlikely to receive one that day. So a wasted day waiting for a phone call from the store and a wasted trip into Glasgow. I was then told my items would be sent to my address that evening. That didn't happen. I eventually got my items an hour and a half before I was due to leave for my event, on the Friday morning. Fortunately, both Items fitted. My wife has subsequently emailed the customer service regarding this issue but has had no response. A continuation of the bad service. In future, I will be using another Kilt hire company and would recommend to others to do the same.
Used gilt edge for both my sons communions 8 years apart. Price was only £5 different in 8 years. Staff were nice and curtious. My children both felt at ease and were happy with there kilts.
Please avoid especially in the time of Covid. Hired a kilt jacket only. At £56 this was £21 more expensive than the same hire from McGregor and MacDuff. I tested positive for Covid and called to say I no longer needed the jacket. I was not looking for a full refund and understood this would be unlikely but was told the deposit was £50 even on such a hire and that I could have £6 back. This is a joke given Covid my advice is go somewhere else.
So hired a kilt . Wasn't allowed to try on . Was told ide get 1 week before event .foned up that day to be told no its not going to be here until next week now . This because shop only opens Thursday to Sunday. Jacket to small but got exchange. On day to return kilt I went into shop ,the woman was busy so I stood but then her phone rang and she called over to me is it a drop off just leave it over there and pointed to another corner of shop . So I walked over dropped it on ground and walked out , point of this review is THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THIS SHOP NEEDS ADDRESSING. I wouldn't recommend this shop .
Visited as part of a party for kilt fittings, they handled around 10 of us with efficiency and got us measured, checked sizing & were back out with out any fuss. Couldn't tell you cost this time but having hired from here previously, the cost isn't different from any other hire shop
Have had many kilt hires from here and only once had to get something changed, a pair of shoes, adult size 10 given instead of child's size. They are professional, attentive, accommodating and experienced. Also open on Sunday which helps if you are working the week after your hires is due to be returned.
Bizarre policies of not letting customers try on shirts for size or see full kilt set up. After picking up hire kilts was told I would have to wait until next day for any amendments to item's ...the day before my wedding I now have to go back into the store. Prices are fine but avoid for customer service
Great service. Diane went over and above to help us track down the ties we needed and saved us a lot of hassle. Really appreciate all of her help, thank you!
