Went for a lunchtime meal in a group of 4. Had a Carvery meal so able to help yourself to everything except for the various roasts. Good selection of vegetables and sauces, so you won't leave hungry . As its a Wadworth's pub they serve good quality beer. There is ample parking and garden area seating if the weather is warm. Only open lunchtimes though so check website for more details.
Stopped in by chance, the staff found us a table and were so polite and welcoming. We ate the carvery which was delicious. It could've been a bit hotter, especially the gravy but that was my only fault. Thanks for a great lunch and it was on offer too! Very happy Food: 5/5
We just wanted to express our thanks to the whole team for such a wonder experience on Saturday lunch time - the carvery was outstanding - the best we have had in many years - the atmosphere was excellent and a perfect place to meet up with family. Cody certainly took time out to ensure everything during our visit was to perfection. Sue the chef who we met when serving the carvery was so helpful and clearly her passion is cooking - to present such a carvery to so many people to that level of perfect deserves a massive well done. The cheesecake which was home made was to die for. Excellent value for money and we look forward to returning on many occasions. Shout out to Kevin and Emily who we could see were also working very hard and I am glad we asked for all your names so we could write this review. Keep up the good work
Went for the carvery. Very impressed. Food was delicious and good quality. Generous portion of meat carved. Very pleasant service. Quite reasonably priced. I will certainly return. Vegetarian options: Apparently there is a nut roast, I didn't see it though. Parking: Free car park on the premises
Second visit here for the carvery and a drink with a walk along the footpath in Bowood to burn off the calories. Food was excellent and staff friendly and helpful. Also dog friendly in the bar area. No doubt I shall be back again.Food: 4/5
It was the first time we visited The George at lunchtime and we opted for the Carvery menu. We were impressed with the quality of the food, the decor was warm and cosy and the seating was comfy. Also impressed with the cheerfulness of the staff including Oliver who look after us very well. Although we live nearly 20 miles away, it was worth the trip and we'll be returning very soon. A BIG THUMBS UP.
Consistent,lots of choice of vegatables. Lovely carvery,good value. Excellent staff always so friendly ! We are now regulars
Nice pub serving good food, we ate as a group and it came to around £25 each for a main, desert and drink. Carverys available were beef, pork and turkey. With a good selection of other typical pub dishes available on Sunday Parking: Large car park with plenty of space for the size of the pub

Had a carvery turkey lovely beef only came in rare and abit stringy better than others I've had else where in a long time definitely will return to have some pie. Advice booking. Vegetarian options: See menu. Kid-friendliness: Garden. Parking: Close as it gets. Approx 15 spaces Wheelchair accessibility: To front of house easy, not sure about the rear, have to ask.
