Went there for restaurant week, had the Garden Picnic for 2 £15. Presentation was nice on s mini picnic table and it came with a good variety of food: soup, BLT sandwich, 2 x salad, brownies, cheese & leek scone, lemon drizzle cake. Service was ok, food was reasonable. Unfortunately come time to pay, we were in for a surprise: the 2 x teas listed on the menu as part of the picnic were apparently not part of the deal. We weren't told about this upfront, which left a bad taste in the mouth as we left.
Found the staff nice and friendly. Some issues with the orders, one of which was quickly corrected, the other missed a major component of the sandwich, which came with a 'salad' - bit of a generous term for a few leaves with a bit of oil+vinegar on, but they were v fresh. Cocktails were good although the fruit with them was a bit sorry looking. Bit of a shame overall but this part of eldon square struggles for footfall now compared to the rest. Nice and quiet if this is what you are after.
used to be much better but seems to have gone downhill on our most recent visit. no table service, food was slow to arrive and wasn't very warm. kids picnic used to be well presented on a picnic table, now just on a chopping board. such a shame as we used to like this place but wouldn't go back
Had pea and mint soup which was flavourless and no trace of mint,served with a chunk of stale bread. When I pointed this out to the staff the respose was very off hand and the apology was very insincere!
Healthy food with adequate portions. Nive spot for a quick drink and something to eat after shopping.
