Visited Thornton's to get easter chocolate gifts. Found a wonderful variety to choose from
Customer service when buying online is horrendous. The courier lost my order and despite filling out two online contact forms I did not get so much as an acknowledgment of my query. A week later I rang the helpline and requested a refund, I was advise a refund would be processed the same day. I then received an email to say they had reissued the order, I emailed back to say I did not ask for a replacement but simply wanted my money back. 3 days later I received a phone call saying could I please refuse delivery of the order and once they had the products back they could issue a refund. I asked for the complaints department and was advised they would email me an email address that I could send my complaint to. Hopefully the courier does not lose this parcel or it will be another month before I receive my refund! I will never shop online with this company again.
I'm sixty eight and Thorntons have never produced hand made sweets in my lifetime but I can remember when their products were not far off. My wife recently purchased a box of the Ferrero owned chocolates and boy are they grim. Ten varieties, but blindfold it would be impossible to differentiate between any on them - bland, sickly and cheap tasting. Say no more

It's a lovely shop with friendly staff but you can buy a lot more than toffees and chocolates as they have teamed up with Hallmark

This at killingworth shopping centre and Thornton is a lovely shop .lots of lovely cards and twinkle window crystals . Worth a visit
Thorntons is always reliable but it's also reliably over priced as well. Small place but has all of the usual stuff so nothing missing.
