The worst gym experience I have had, I am glad I have signed up for a free tour to see this myself! The gym looks like if it was a war zone, the pictures can clarify my disappointment and especially on behalf the members that are paying! The only staff didn’t even want to come out from the tiny reception room, when I was gonna check in for my trial visit here. No “Hi”, no a word just pointing out on the check in scanner and with that movement gone already back to be on his phone. Many useful exercising machines regardless how disappointing the entire place!
I never normally leave reviews but I love this gym. Super friendly staff and members. Not intimidating as some gyms can be. The classes are fun and there are lots to choose from. Very clean and good variety of machines and free weights. The Personal Trainers are approachable and always willing to help out. Definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a new gym.
I’m taking the time to post a positive review. Been using this gym since 2019 and I made a few friends, got myself a hot body, and enjoyed every type of workout with existing equipment. I am learning to adapt my routine such that I arrive when it’s not busy and u get to use all equipment I want. Everything else is clean and accessible. Most importantly, the staff are just awesome. If you want to join, go for it - it’s an investment in yourself and it’s the work that you put in that matters. Also, show up and be mindful of others: texting while resting on equipment is way worse than the small showers.
The gym is ridiculously overpriced and the company in general has a very heavy focus on just making money rather than customer satisfaction. Bathrooms are often dirty and it’s extremely small and cramped in there. There are other gyms that are much cheaper and basically the same standard as this one. Machines are limited and usually super busy as well so over. I didn’t rate the customer service either. Probably one of the least understanding teams I’ve dealt with.I got lured in by a deal only to find out it doubles after 2 months. I was misled by the team when they gave me the initial price and I should have read the terms and conditions properly - however when I tried to cancel my membership customer service were extremely rude and condescending and made me pay an expensive cancellation fee despite complaints of being misled from my side. They sent me screenshots of their t&c’s and were like ‘well you should have read this’. That’s fair enough, but if you’re going to lie to your customers and then hide information in T&Cs then that is just not acceptable and very scam like. Definitely avoid.
I’ve been a member of several gyms and I can honestly say I love Fitness First! Maurice and his staff are amazing! Everyone is really friendly and go to great lengths to put you at ease and provide any necessary help and support. The clientele are of mixed fitness abilities and ages, and I feel that because of the staff’s positive attitude, the users are also really friendly and comfortable training at this facility. The gym is stocked with an excellent variety of equipment and there is something to suit all training styles. Moreover, I’m very picky but I can truly say that the gym is super clean and staff can be seen, regularly wiping down equipment throughout the day! Wonderful gym which I truly have no problems recommending to anyone!
Best gym I’ve ever been to. The staff are absolutely amazing and always happy to help out the members both with exercise and dietary matters. They go over and beyond to accomodate for members’ needs and they keep the place spotless! They clean and re-arrange weights constantly. Dorina will go out of her way to help members find what they need and is a good spotter..!. Maurice, the manager, always handles situations professionally, efficiently and discreetly. Love this gym and staff! I’d never switch to a different branch or brand. Job well done :
Lots of equipment, good size. But the showers were very gross.
Hands down the friendliest gym I've ever been too. All the staff are brilliant and make you feel very at home. The quality of the classes is excellent and varied and there is plenty of gym equipment. The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful - Dave, Tony, Percy, Enzo and Maurice are all complete stars! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this gym to anyone looking for a local gym in the area - it really has a great community feel to it and I'm very glad I joined.
This gym is no longer maintaining the equipment. To concerned members: Gyms have certain contractual obligations to members – such as providing a reasonable standard of facilities. If the gym equipment is faulty, it can be argued that the facilities fall below a reasonable standard, and may therefore be a breach of members rights. In the first instance, you could complain to the manager of the gym, who should address your concerns immediately. If you feel that your complaint hasn’t been taken seriously or if you aren’t happy to continue using their substandard facilities, you may be within your right to cancel your contract.
I only visit the gym for the Sunday morning spin class which is pretty subpar. The instructor is very uninspiring / unengaged and does the same routine to the same songs every week - his instructions are also really unclear including on resistance level he’ll just occasionally say resistance up some or resistance down some. The bikes are fine but there’s only one class studio for all classes so you have to pull out your heavy exercise bike and position it then pull it back to the side of the room at the end of class. I think the studios are being upgraded so hopefully the spin studio gets better speakers/mic, fixed bikes, and maybe even some of the interactive software that other places have so you can race in teams, see your effort level on a screen in front of you, or similar. Hopefully the instructor gets inspired at that point as well.
