Fine Foods - Locanda del Melo
"We opened in June 2006 with the purpose of bringing to London our 25 years of unique experience in the Italian food industry. We import all our products directly from small farms throughout Italy; they are not industrial products - you won`t find them in supermarkets. In fact, all of our producers are family run businesses and are well known for their excellence and high-quality produce. If you are not sure what to cook for dinner, come and you will definitely not leave empty-handed. In addition, our restaurant menu offers traditional favourites cooked according to traditional recipes, with seasonal ingredients and it changes frequently."

After a long day at Highclere Castle, we were spent. Tired, hungry, and maybe a little cranky. Salvatore and Ann recognized our state and provided delicious food with great service. A cozy spot with delicious food that deserves lines of people waiting to get in.
This is an adorable little Italian restaurant! It is really small there was only like 8 tables, but the owner was so help fun and nice! The food was AMAZING!! 100% recommend!Food: 5/5
Very good food quality, warm and friendly service despite our latish arrival 20:30. The atmosphere is just a window into an Italian deli offering family cuisine. We shared some parmigiana succulent and fondant aubergines and bruschetta juicy cherry tomatoes with basil and garlic hints, with a lovely glass of Nero d’Avola red wine. To finish, tiramisù and affogato for a sweet treat. The bill is a bit pricey, but worth it for delicious products and supporting a local independent business. Will come again with family and friends, and spread the word around us Your dogs are also welcome with is a +++ Grazie mille merci beaucoup!
This place was the perfect wine bar/ Italian restaurant find! It’s a small place but it they make it up to you by friendly service and amazing food. At this restaurant you will get that classic Italian family service and tasty classic food! I would definitely recommend eating here if you love good food and to have a good laugh and all round amazing night at Locanda del melo
I used to pass this place by for in a car all the time when I used to live in the are 15 years ago. Finally, I was in the area ago on foot and randomly came across this place again and decided to have some duck breast ragu, delicious!Food: 5/5
I cannot recommend this place enough; it is truly a hidden gem. The setting is modest and cozy, while the dishes themselves quite simple, because that's all they need to be. You cannot only taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients themselves, but also the expertise and care that went into cooking them. On top of that, the service is incredible. The only thing stopping you is perhaps making a reservation, since seating is quite limited, but this only adds to the charm and is well worth the small effort. 10/10.
Slightly overpriced but good. I’d say other reviews are 10% exaggerated. This places is good but I feel like some dishes, such as the duck, could have more flavor. That said, you won’t be disappointed, just make sure to stick to pasta dishes. Alsk make sure to try tiramisu in the end!Recommended dishesTortelloni Tartufati, Caprese Salad with Smoked Mozzarella
Perfect little place in a budding London neighbourhood. Behind a quaint fine foods counter sits a tiny restaurant. Locanda always has a new menu that never disappoints. This place has been a favourite since my first time in London almost 4 years ago. The walnut blue cheese gnocchi was bomb and the boar ragú was even better. Be sure to make a reservation. This tiny place packs a punch, be sure not to miss it!
Like others have said, what a great little spot, tucked away on a quiet street. Italians run the place so you know it’s genuine. Cozy, quick service, very amiable and a quite attractive waiter from Palermo! My friend and I split the crab pasta, cod with lentils and the chocolate fondant. The pasta was fresh and perfectly al dente, with a delicious buttery flavour. The cod was plump and juicy, expertly cooked, and I was delighted with the huge amount of lentils. A treat! The fondant could be plated differently- honestly it looks like a poop smear- but it was utterly delicious to end the night, with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. The wine carafe was a bit too expensive at £23 !! but the suggested dry white wine choice from Sardinia was delicious. Overall a wonderful experience and I would return.
A warm small restaurant. We stopped by for lunch and got the lunch set. It was good and very fresh.Food: 5/5
