I'm so glad I was finally able to eat here. What delicious and sumptuous food. Menu is only on the chalk board as it gets changed frequently - except for the beef wellington which is a regular occurrence - and one to try. I also recommend getting 2 entree, one main, and 1 dessert between 2 people. Good to try as much as you can. I recommend the pistachio millefeuille. You need to book a table, walk-in are not generally taken. Staff are friendly and helpful with recommendations
Want to have a genuine French food experience? Head to Casse Croute like we did. That too on a cold cold day. The tiny bistro not only squeezes you in from the cold, it transforms your dining experience into a French one as if transported to the land of Gauls. We shared starters of ravioli plump with crab filling swathed generously in a velvety smooth rich bisque all pretty with wilted spinach leaves peeking out around the large bowl. Equally if not more delcious was a decadent slab of foie gras partnered with a tangy apple-sultana chutney with what tasted like buttery brioche slices. Heavenly! Our mains of roasted Guinea fowl on a bed of shallots mushrooms, rich gravy under which peeked our buttery mashed potatoes, seared trout, covered in red wine jus, on a bed of cauliflower rice/crumbs tossed with herbs and roasted hazelnuts and fresh parsley and steamed florets of cauliflower and a cheesy béchamel, a medium rare filet steak with traditional sides and a delicious satisfying mushroom soup. All washed down with a nostalgic Dubonnet, Kir Royale and a house red. With eyes bigger than our stomachs, the ever attentive and friendly Cyril our Maitre d’/Manager proffered dessert so we ordered an Ille Flotante - floating island - to share. Glad we did share as like all their offerings this was a generous sized light island of white in a sea of cream just kissed with a hint of nutmeg and sweetness. Aah. Our walk back home was in good cheer with taste buds still singing. Merci beaucoup Cyril and Casse Croute.
Amazing food, wine and service. Very authentic interior and cosy vibe. Perfect for romantic dates or chit chats with friends.Food: 5/5
Amazing little French bistro. Some of, if not THE best food I’ve ever had. Don’t change! It’s a small bistro, so book a table.
Amazing little French restaurant in Bermondsey. Best Beef Wellington in town!! Definitely worth a visit. Can’t understand why they don’t have a Michelin star yet.Food: 5/5
Mouthwatering classic French cuisine. Highly recommend people to try their Beef Wellington and the Napoleon dessert.Food: 5/5
Everything here was fantastic - chef's kiss! I ordered the steak and green beans with potatoes au gratin, while my husband had the mustard pork with mashed potatoes, and both were simply to die for. Our server also gave us plenty of space and had beautiful recommendations for which wines to pair with dinner. My husband's tarte tatin like a French apple pie was divine; I wish I'd saved room for dessert. He especially raved about the picon biere, while I loved my tiny glass of dessert wine. We'll be back for the amazing dinner and fabulous service next time we're in London! Dietary restrictions: Lots of ways of eating gluten-free/grain-free with this menu!
Great food! Menu changes everyday and it’s delicious, plenty of classics available. Service was fantastic - Thanks to Marion we had the best time. The environment is very relax and welcoming, small room lovely deco.Food: 5/5
Delicious food - every visit we pay to Casse-Croûte, we never get disappointed! Super cute and authentic environment as well
Humble, substantive, quaintly filled with intellectuals and varied kind of epicurean. Has a full bar for wine, hard drinks, etc. Ambience is so French, but decorations make you feel like you are in a small Café in Paris. The waiters are very busy, but have time to speak to you about the restaurant and the food. And the food is absolutely superb. You must try out this place. But be forewarned, that if you are unlucky, you will need to book way ahead for a seat. Menu changes daily. We'll worth it. Perfect for a dinner out with your partner, before or after a show, movie, or concert.
