A varied programme of films, often themed by director, genre or country. There are baby and carer screenings and some educational events. The film house cafe bar is lovely! Vegetarians are catered for and some lovely world cuisine is often on offer. The cafe can get busy as the weekends and you can take your drinks into the cinema. The cafe hosts a regular movie themed quiz night. There is a book crossing shelf in the cafe. There are films for sale in the foyer. Look out for the 'secret book sculpture' - the first of a series of mysterious sculptures to appear in venues across Edinburgh.

Awesome no-frills theater with very affordable prices for tickets. Didn't explore their snacks but it didn't smell like overpriced popcorn so that's a plus. Great if you just want to see a movie without paying extra for reclining super sofas.

Nice atmosphere & good food. There’s no music playing in the bar, nor is there a TV showing sport or news, which some people find distracting. The food is excellent, the nachos in particular.

I enjoyed my first visit in years. Inexpensive films and nice cafe. The staff are pleasant and helpful and I enjoyed browsing in the shop.

If you are tired of the big name cinemas this is a good alternative. Only a short walk from city centre. Many go for the cafe which serves good well priced food and drink. Always nice vegetarian options. Small but nice wine list.
