Story

Eureka! is a unique place for families and groups to visit, where children aged 0 to 11 are inspired to learn all about themselves and the world around them by playing, imagining, experimenting and – above all – having fun, with the caring grown-ups in their lives.
Based on the North American model of children’s museums, Eureka! opened on 9 July 1992.

This place is a gem. We took our 2 year old during the school holidays, it was extremely busy, I felt alot of the things were too old for her, but there is also plenty for her age group, the only problem being that it was so busy she couldn't get near most of it to play, most of the kids were older. But that's on us for taking her in the holidays. The beauty is once you've paid for your visit, you can visit anytime again for free up to 12 months after which is fantastic! So we'll definitely be visiting again when it's a quieter. It's so easy to get to , right next to the train station, although we did go by bus and then tried to access it via the train station and found there is a massive flight of stairs we had a pram so if you have a pram or wheelchair you'd have to exit the train station and walk all the way round. But once you know about that it's not a problem. There's eating areas inside and outside, the one inside closes at 3. There's also a cafe serving food which we didn't go to and a cafe upstairs serving drinks and icecream which we had, these prices I found expensive but fairly standard these days. Entry price is also very reasonable given you can go as many times as you want for the next 12 months. Outside there is also a giant sandpit which seemed popular, would recommend taking a bucket and spade if your child would like to play in it. There were also other toys like hoops and giant blocks to play with, although this may only be a school holiday thing. All in all a good day out, looking forward to going again when it's quieter
Absolutely fantastic day out... great indoor & outdoor venue... our 4 year old loved it.nOnly downside was the sound area was a tad too loud our daughter has adhd would be fantastic if a sen area was created that'd be icing on cake!
We’ve been here twice now. Full of interesting educational fun. With giant teeth and toothbrushes what’s not to like. Although I was knackered at the end of the day chasing the little ones around it was definitely worth it. You can always get discount codes if money is tight or your on a budget. Theres also a sand pit outside and an eating area if you want to have a picnic.
Great little day out. Lots of activities on for half term. Circus themed this time. All exhibits are hands on and interactive. Bring your own picnic, a can of pop was £2.50! Carpark is right next to the museum so you can go back and forth for your stuff. Outdoor area is great for a picnic.
Amazing place for kids. We spend there almost 5 hours and our kids really enjoyed all attractions. It was busy there but the place is so big that you can always find the place which is less busy.nOur kids enjoy most small town where they could play different roles shopping, cooking, bank, post, drive a car or busnIdeal place to go if the weather is not good. You can buy a ticket an use it for all year, or buy a bit cheaper to use once.
