The 4 boys loved the museum with the exploration bags. What a great idea. The ladies at reception wete lovely and friendly , nothing was too much for them. Thankyou. This place is perfect for a free day out. Only issue was the pagoda was full of broken glass and not fit to go in, such a shame. Gift shop is reasonable so we all came home with a treasure. Definitely visit again and again x
Welcome to Huddersfield. This is one of the best place to spend spring and summer with kids in Huddersfield. The place is easy to reach because it is situated next to the main road. Visitors can enjoy playing on the grass or visiting museum at designated time. Kids can enjoy some stuffs at the playground next to this building.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Interesting free museum in Ravensknowle Park, on the edge of Huddersfield. There was good exhibitions about the suffragettes and the First World War. It's got a shop, cafe and plenty of free parking. In my opinion, it's best suited to older children and adults.
Impressive motor section and interesting world war one exhibits and history of Huddersfield. Didn't see upstairs as it was closed but still worth the visit. It's free too. A shame it's being relocated to the town centre.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Likeable council run I assume museum explaining the history of the area, and contains a transport museum featuring information about transport services in the area over the last century and some vehicles too. The local school kids obviously visit and there was some of their work adorning the walls in the drinking area. Endearing and good to see these places are put to good use. Some small snacks and drinks are available from the front counter, no specific cafe but a sizeable room with tables and chairs is set aside to sit in. Toilets available elsewhere in the building. The front desk sites inside the foyer and was managed by friendly staff who also prepared drinks on request. Admission is free and the building itself has some lovely architecture as does the accompanying building. Car access was easy and a fair sized car parking area which was also free.
Great museum for finding out about local history friendly staff and very kid friendly they have torches and magnifying glasses to use to help keep them entertained . Please use this place the more foot traffic it gets the better . Parking is free there is a park to play in on better days and it can be got to using public transportWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Went to Tolsen Museum over the weekend for The Victoria Christmas Market. Nice stalls Really enjoyed the day. My grandson saw Santa and received a gift for £3.00. Nice place to visit daily although closed Mondays.
For a free museum it is really really good, lots of exhibits to look at.
A great museum, very informative and unique. Well thought out and wonderfully quaint.
