I love it here! Easily my favourite museum in the UK. Huge selection of old weaponry, great historical background and there's a lot to learn. Best of all, on the top floor they have a crossbow range. It's like £1 and you get a bunch of arrows to shoot at the targets, and a short training session on how to use the crossbows. It's safe for kids as the crossbows are mounted, and there's a shorter section so younger children can reach. 100% would recommend!

Grand museum indeed! Featured in pictures are several highlights not giving much away. National treasures on display viewable at no fee. Well displayed modern museum. Will fill a whole day for a person interested in the subject, but and at least two hours to simply see everything. Found the historical period slightly abrupt 1300 - 1920. Surprised there was no second world war section (doesn't detract but I expected there to be one). Shop could be improved, few items I'd want to buy - needs more museum branded items and of higher quality - thinking nice mugs or decent metal keyrings.

I didn't expect to enjoy this because I'm not interested in guns and war - I just went along because my husband had always wanted to visit this museum. In fact we happily spent nearly 6 hours here and had a very interesting and enjoyable visit. The building itself is impressive with good views of Leeds Dock. There is a much wider range of exhibits than I had expected. They are very well presented and the museum staff put on talks and demonstrations and performances to make the whole thing come alive. Thanks to Mike and his colleagues for their hard work and enthusiasm. A very good day out

Really interesting displays. We enjoyed the cowboy show. He told stories of the wild west. Free entry makes it a great bargain day out. Allow two hours minimum for your visit.
