A very comprehensive and spacious museum displaying many many many weapons and armour from around the world and of all times, if you have in interest in the topic armour and weapons then this is the place for you. The free demos are fantastic, incredibly entertaining. Entry is free but you can support the museum through donations and buying things in the gift shop. There are many booths showing a deeper explanation of some topics like the evolution of sword play to fencing which I found a bit more engaging than yet another sword/pistol as it can get a bit overwhelming seeing so many similar artefacts. Recommended if you have an active interest in the subject.
Incredible collection of weapons and the such. Very informative and set out in lovely, understandable displays! There were love shows going on regularly throughout the day, and the shop had some great things in it! Can't believe its free entry, definetly worth donating to though!
Really interesting place! To be honest I didn't think I'd find it that interesting weapons and bullets and armour atc BUT we watched a sword fight, which was very entertaining and well acted. The displays are very accessible and arranged in interesting ways, so much so that you find yourself looking at things you never thought you'd be interested in. There's some great life size scenes that've been created with models, and a massive shop to poke 'round too. Loos on most floors, a little cafe, lifts so everywhere is accessible. Plus the museum is on the docks, so great location. All in all I was very impressed!
The Royal Armouries Museum is a fascinating place with an incredible collection of arms and armour.nThe exhibits are thoughtfully presented, engaging, and suitable for visitors of all ages.nLive demonstrations bring history to life and make the experience even more memorable.nThe museum is spacious, well organised, and easy to explore at your own pace.nA brilliant free attraction and an absolute must-visit when you’re in Leeds.
I had an amazing visit to the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds and would happily give it 5 stars.nnIt is honestly hard to believe that such a high-quality museum is completely free to enter. The scale and depth of the exhibitions are impressive, and it is easily one of the best places to explore history in the UK.nnThe museum spans five floors, with a very comprehensive collection covering different periods and types of arms and armour. Everything is well presented and easy to follow, making it suitable both for casual visitors and those with a deeper interest in history.nnA real highlight is the live demonstrations and shows that take place every hour. They add a dynamic and engaging element to the visit and make the experience even more memorable.nnOverall, it is an outstanding museum that offers exceptional value, rich historical insight, and a full day of exploration. Highly recommended.
