Really nice, spacious cinema with plenty of large screens and decent private booth areas. Well worth booking online for the seats furthest back for the extra leg room (although I imagine it can be a little cramped still for the taller folk out there). Can't complain about the price of food and drinks - yes it's expensive but that's typical of cinema snacks. Bar and seating area upstairs, lots of nearby parking. Excellent facilities. Staff are usually very friendly.

Great cinema with friendly staff. No loyalty scheme but super cheap tickets with on a Tuesday. Good seating arrangement and audio. Screen is good quality. Good for all ages and parties visiting. Full range of films shown and good films stay playing for a few weeks normally so plenty of time to watch what you want to see. Sunderland doesn't have much going for it, but this cinema has given me some of the best childhood memories growing up so it gets a 5* from me.

A spotlessly clean cinema, with friendly and approachable staff. Queuing was a reasonable wait, even on a bank holiday weekend. Prices for refreshments were surprisingly high, and ticket prices in line with any other Empire site. Sound quality and temperature in the screen were fine and the seats were in good condition - suspect the venue has been recently renovated.

I love going here and in the years of going I've only had a problem with one film which was due to a technical issue with the air conditioning. Prices are reasonable -to- expensive. Deals on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for admission. Food could be priced better for what you get but I'd rather pay a little extra to keep a cinema locally. There is plenty of screens / showings. VIP boxes are nice as are the premium seats. Bookings can be made online. Midnight premieres also come on for the big films. Service is great though and staff are friendly and polite.

Nice cinema, the place was nice and clean, staff are friendly and most importantly, the seats are very comfortable. They are a decent height unlike most cinemas and it was nice to be able to relax completely while watching the movie.
