Amazing local cinema, run by volunteers, never been before as i moved to halstead not long be the 1st lockdown but happy ive been now
You cannot knock this place and the effort put in by the volunteers. A great comedy show and a great venue.
Great little venue for bands, plays and the Xmas panto, oh no it isn't, OH YES IT IS!!
Th empire is a fantastic little cinema. We always came here as children before Braintree had a cinema and it is just as good now. The tickets are a great price, particularly for the kids films. Sweets, popcorn and drinks are well priced too. As a family it costs us around £15 total for 4 tickets, drinks, popcorn and sweets. It's not much less than that for a single ticket at the bug cinemas. Also love that it's just music before the film, no adverts or trailers. And the film always starts right on time. The empire also do Autism Friendly Screenings and Dementia Friendly Screenings once a month. Amazing! It's a great place for the live shows they have too.

We love our local cinema and like to support them when we can We went for the Saturday morning family film encanto and it is such good value for money! Friendly staff, refreshments available Only thing I missed was the half time ice cream that I have such fond memories off from my childhood visits to this same cinema

A hidden gem, that's what The Empire is, staffed by volunteers it look like it has had a refurbishment recently and I for one will be checking out the programme for what's on. Comfortable seating, friendly staff and competitive prices, what's more to ask.
