As long as your paperwork is in order the process is super efficient! The security guard on my first visit was helpful and friendly. All the staff I encountered in the embassy were also friendly and helpful and made me feel at ease with the whole process. When I arrived to collect my visa the second security guard was not so helpful and didn’t look up from his phone, he just pointed at the door and said ticket. I feel I would have been a bit confused if I hadn’t been before, but otherwise a good experience overall. Thank you
Literally took me 15 minutes to sort out my visa. Everyone were polite and friendly, from security, receptionist to staff. Pleasant atmosphere and plus one for a toilet with bidet lol. It only took 5 days to get my passport with approved Japan visa vignette. The staff was very helpful as well whenever I asked questions. Thank you so much.
Zero stars for insufficient measures to protect personal information. The embassy's lack of clarity raises concerns about potential unauthorized use of personal information by staff. They fail to specify procedures for handling non-application document requests or ensure data security. Applicants are left uncertain about safeguarding their data. Consider reporting any document loss or theft to local police to protect your information.
There is a super rude African security guard out front. I asked him what the building was and he ignored me. Then comma I asked him if I could go inside and he said no without explaining why. Very disappointed that Japan would choose such a person to represent their country

What an incredibly painless and efficient service. As long as you have the paperwork and in the right order, it'll take you no time. My visa appointment was one minute and I had my collection date booked when I left the building. I had to check on the way out if I had missed anything because I couldn't believe who easy it was. Collection also took no time and only cost £20. It is very easy to book an appointment on the website too.
This review is dedicated to the Visa team at the embassy of Japan in London. I recently used the new E-visa system online and the team was very efficient and helpful- they emailed me asking for additional document and quickly responded once they’ve been submitted. You can always find the best quality of service here compared to many other visa teams at other embassies in London regretfully
Just had my visa appointment, very polite and flexible staff. I had my deposit account statements for the last 3 months, and the last statement of my savings account which was unfortunately 3 months ago, however they needed a more recent temporary statement for the last months on the savings so they accepted my application and allowed me to go to the bank branch and bring the temporary statement afterwards : can’t complain about anything.
what kind of government institution only accept cash for a passport renewal... so difficult to comprehend.
