Story

El Ganso (The Goose) Is the new Spanish Restaurant brought to you by experienced restaurateur Ihsan Tuncay & renowned Spanish chef Marcelo Sánchez Cabrera.

New to Broadway Market in Hackney, East London El Ganso is an intimate restaurant offering modern Spanish Tapas using the finest ingredients available.

Ihsan the manager proprietor has over 15 years experience running busy brasseries and cafes in Islington. He is extremely dedicated to his trade and offers a very warm friendly welcome to all his guests. He will be sorely missed by the Upper Street community when he spreads his wings and heads east!

Marcelo the executive chef has been working in the UK now for several years and most recently at 'La Farola' in Islington where Ihsan and he met and developed this idea. Marcelo is an old school Spanish chef who has learnt his trade and developed it to be of the moment and very modern. Not scared to experiment Marcelo learnt to cook from a early age with his parents and family being fanatical cooks.

Marcelo is from Valencia a region in Spain known for its adventurous style of cooking and wine production and this is emulated in his style. Marcelo embraces fish & shellfish, loves olive oil and is inspired by Japanese & South American food.

El Ganso has consulted on a cutting edge wine list by Nikolaus Greig formally of Marco Pierre White Restaurants and Harvey Nichols, delivering a varied selection of internationally sourced wonders! Our list is predominately Spanish and old colony inspired with some real old classic flavours as well as new exiting wines and winemakers.
