I really love this place. Great tasting, simple food, and friendly, relaxed service make this a great choice for an evening with friends, sharing tapas together, or for a chilled evening with a significant other. A lot of the food is gluten-free, and there's plenty for veggies too. Make sure you try the vegetable menestra, and the blood orange sorbet with dessert wine! Three guys with good appetites ate till we were stuffed, had a bottle of wine between us, desserts and coffee to finish, and the bill including service came to less than £35/head. Looking forward to my next visit!
Lets think it was one of those days for them. Every single thing just went wrong. Waitress was obviously tired after a busy Sunday shift understandable, but... Restaurant looked a mess and all 3 working ladies were not in control of what is happening there. We ordered food. After half an hour of waiting decided to double check what happened as my friend was super hungry. Our waitress realised she forgot to sent our order. We sat close enough to the bar to witness staff conversation. Our tired waitress came to let us know that there was an error in the till and kitchen didn't receive our order. Please, don't make up stories, just say what happened. Things do happen. Minutes after she came back to offer us free drinks and inform that our food will come in max 10min. We decided to wait. My friend asks for chips and sides asap as she is starving. Instead a table next to us receives chis and sides. After all tables around us receive food we stand up and leave. 70 min wait in total. On our way out another lady approach us possibly restaurant manager saying that they will cancel our bill : Thank you very much. We just had tap water and olives. We didn't receive anything else.
Incredible Spanish/English cafe serving tasty wholesome food in a friendly environment. There's a large back area for warm days which can be covered during the English summer! Highly recommended for English breakfasts and roasts.
On the edge of London's second biggest park, the Village is packed full of pubs, restaurants and bars - including The Ginger Pig butchers, The Fish House, The Empress and Bottle Apostle - and plenty of choice. We decided to give Spit Jacks a try. And we weren't disappointed. Right on the cusp of breakfast, lunch and brunch, we were shown to our table underneath a feature wall of mounted antlers and stripped back lighting. We ordered breakfast tea the best cure for any hangover, apart from a Bloody Mary, of course before poring over the Latin American/English crossover menu. With brunch served from 10am-3pm, we were in good company - no one does a double take when you order the hand cut fries, or order an extra sausage. A and T went for the chorizo sausage, aforementioned fries and refried beans while J and I had a Full English each two eggs, two sausages, mushrooms, bacon, hash brown, tomatoes and beans at the handsome price of £6.50. The service was sweet, the portions mountainous and the prices admirable. With tabasco served alongside the tomato ketchup, this was a nice way to switch things up a little. We didn't catch sight of the lunch menu but the specials sounded tempting risotto with goat's cheese and butternut squash, anyone? and the next table's desserts of churros and cheesecake looked to die for. A great little place to stumble upon, Spit Jack's gets three out of five.
Has potential. The spit roast chicken is a bit dry..which is odd as spit roasting should keep it juicy. So that needs sorting given its their signature dish. Some of tapas is nice. SpitandRoast do a far better job from a van.
Service was pretty poor, staff were friendly but made us wait 20 minutes to order food and then even forgot our starters so we had to cancel it once our mains arrived! Sunday roast chicken was below average, lacked flavour and the presentation didn't help! I don't think I will be visiting here again.
Delicious food, comfortable surroundings and lovely people. A great midweek, early evening place too, especially in the summer when the garden roof opens up!
A great place for breakfast, brunch and dinner. A welcoming atmosphere and attentive manager. Wifi and nice outside space, child friendly. A good first experience!
Been here twice recently and both times had to send things back that were cold. Staff are lovely and not too pricey.
Love this restaurant in Vicky Park village. Amazing take away deals and delicious food.
