This place has a really cool vide and concept. Love when restaurants push for simplicity and quality over complexity and quantity. This restaurant is definitely doing the former and it is working for them. The items on the menu names after prominent American culture icons like Donald Trump and the decor follows suit. Everything is all cool til we get to the food. From ordering to receiving our food was quite a while which is wild because it’s really just grilled cheese with ingredients already prepped. Every grilled cheese was topped topped with these off tasting chilli flakes regardless of whether it was complimentary to the flavour. Further more the flavours were bland and lacked excitement which is pretty easy to do with a grilled cheese. Great concept, might have lost its way with the execution. Prior to coming here I’ve tested flavours like this in my own kitchen and they work. Not sure why they missed the mark. All the pieces were there. I would have waited longer if they had tasted better but it seems it’s a poor mark In time and taste.
I'm an outright meat eater and was taken here with work friends who are vegan. I absolutely loved the Mac and cheese, the corn dogs but highlight was that jackfruit burger! Would definitely recommend and will visit again as I work 1 minute away
Went for a dinner with my partner there and we were both so pleasantly surprised! I had purchased a Groupon voucher and the amount of food we got there was filling us both up to the brim. Best of all though was the service. The waiter and owner? was so invested in the business to provide an excellent service to the customers, to attend to everyone, was knowledgeable about the food and made us excellent hot chocolate the food itself is American as one can expect, with a good range of the classic comfort foods. Everything was delicious, in good quantity and well priced unlike some other veggie places that are trying to achieve a similar vibe but then charge £8 for a burger... Definitely a place to go for comfort food, or where to take your meat loving friends! They would be surprised!!!
It’s a fun Sunday brunch place with friendly staff. I had the shakshuka with hash browns. I was tempted to call them tatter tots given the American theme of the restaurant. But yes, the red, white and blue, Stars and Stripes were a little overbearing after a while and the restaurant smelt of grease which adds to the diner authenticity perhaps?. I think the food itself was good enough that they don’t need the gimmick. The food was handled with care. The shakshuka had a lovely consistency - somewhere between creamy mash and a paste. The hash browns were light and crispy, not at all oily.
Great little spot for lunch tucked away in Bethnal Green. The waiter was friendly and answered our numerous questions. I had the Green Shakshuka, which was absolutely delicious! I wouldn’t change a thing about the meal. Great vegan option. There isn’t much space so it’s slightly crowded but that wasn’t really a problem. Would recommend!
Very cool that there are so many vegan options, but wouldn't say it was classically American food. Quite alot of the food had more of an Asian spice to it, for example the Tex mex & the jackfruit burger. They also didn't serve fries, only wedges which was odd although the wedges were delish!. The service was fantastic and our waitress very attentive.
I live nearby and have walked past this place many times but have never entered. Today I went for lunch with a friend and I loved it - the concept is fresh , the space is well designed , the food was amazing and the staff were more than friendly. The area lacks a good coffee shop / cafe where people can go and work on their laptop and I will be trying that next week . Well done 90 degree melt for bringing a new concept to Stepney Green - we need more than just fried chicken shops !
Less than impressed When visiting an empty restaurant, you could expect some hospitality to ensure customers would return for a second visit or tell their friends. Not here. The staff were disengaged and uninviting; I seem to have imposed on them for wanting to eat. I looked at the menu and had to prod the worker what was popular and even upsell myself on side orders. The counter was messy, and the main window could do with a clean. Not recommending this place to anyone. Melt was on child size bread and the side I ordered was raw, not steamed, but raw.
Great food and great service. They have a range of different types of grilled cheese sandwiches. Good atmosphere. The price is also quite reasonable at sandwiches ranging from £4-£4.25. Good drinks and dessert options also available. The apple sparkler is recommended.
Tasty vegetarian food! I had the cornbread and cauliflower buffalo wings which were so delicious and very filling! Prices are level with establishments in Shoreditch and totally worth it in today's £££ climate :
