Three stars means OK, and that's about right. I booked a cheap car before I read the reviews but thought I could handle it as I've rented lots of cars. Getting to it is a bus ride away and £3 each way unless you show the driver some paperwork etc with easyrent on then it's free. The place isn't signposted or at least I didn't see any, you walk round the back of the hotel to get there. The guys on the desk seemed friendly and even accepted a picture of my licence as I had forgotten it! The hard sell is incredible and as you can read here £1250 is block booked as the insurance excess. Its only a deposit so was fine with it. £95 is actually taken from your credit card to cover fuel and the apparently pay it back when you return the car (in 3-5days) I don't think I've ever had to do it before. They push the extra insurance hard but I fielded them all off and took the car for the basic price. It was almost funny when the guy got out a laminated sheet with prices on it pointing to a figure of £60,000 he told me this is the maximum I might have to pay if I write off the car....it was a fiesta mate!! The car was good, new and clean. Make sure you check everything on the car when you do the vehicle check, but you would anyway anywhere else.... Wouldn't you. Easirent, cheap not close to airport, hard sell but definitely not as bad as most of these reviews say...saying that though... I won't use them again.

The prices are quite affordable and may be one of the best in the town.its in crawley so if one has time can plan to take the free shuttle from Gatwick..on the negative side the terms and conditions are not clear. If you book it through rental cars, which majority people do, nothing is specified about getting 2 forms of ID, license check and a credit card (debit card and cash are strictly not accepted)where 1250 deposit is charged. Although I agree its mentioned in the voucher in bullet points, the rental car website and even their reminders do not mention anything about them. I think its quite a hassle because of this. Easirent should ensure that its terms and conditions are clearly visible and transparent to the customers.

The only positive was the polite service at the front desk. But beware the distance from the airport - it's not to be relished after arriving late at night. One has to be very careful of low-cost car hire firms as they are out to make money at every turn. One of the requirements (luckily we saw the notice stuck to the wall) is that the car must be filled up within 5 miles of drop-off, and must be verified by the petrol invoice. However, our car was certainly not full when we received it, and the window washer fluid was completely empty.

Cheapest place I could find near Gatwick airport, if you are willing to endure through hours (literally hours) of the sales people trying to rob you of your money. Some tips and things to know (NB also see the photos): They are sales people, they will try to make you tired of them and settle for what they are trying to sell you. So prepare yourself for that. You will have to take a coach there, it is not walking distance from the airport. We couldn't find the coach so we just took a public bus. Many reviewers say they only settled for this place because they went the distance to get there, but there are public bus stops (blue metro busses) nearby that can take you back to the airport for 2.5 pounds at time of writing. There is a 1250 pound deposit for the car, and 95 pound deposit for fuel. You need two proofs of residence if you are from the UK, see the photos. A lady next to us was persuaded to spend three times more than she would have, left with the car, got a flat tire just down the road, and had to go through the process again. She was there for six hours. Horrible experience.

Never again. Rude, illogical staff. Car was grinding with brakes. Tried to sell us everything we did not want or need. Took two hours to get our car. Told one customer at one point " Do you think your better than me?". Surreal experience. Never, ever again.
