Rainwater leaked into the car through the lights in the ceiling. It rained for 5 days of our trip, so two seats were unusable because they were so wet. The headlights had a brightness dial with 4 levels of brightness, but it was broken with the lights on the lowest setting pointing down at an angle. I couldn’t see more than 5 meters in front of me at night driving through the English countryside. It was very dangerous. I booked a 6+ suv for small kids, and was given a massive 8 seat van without a backup camera. The car needed an oil change at pick up. The staff was friendly and polite on pick up. Unmanned drop off so no one to talk to on drop off about rain issue.
I had a great experience with my rental on March 15, 2023. The agent was polite and experienced, my wait time to be served was less than 5 minutes and the agent processed my reservation and documents very efficiently and expertly. He helped me locate the place where I was able to pick up the vehicle. Exiting the rental area was also easy and the return of the vehicle was easy as well. I returned the vehicle very early on a Sunday when no staff was there, but the drop off box was clearly marked which made it easy for me to leave the vehicle quickly and safely. Within a few hours I received a conformation e-mail from Sixt that my return was processed successfully. Oh, one of the best things about this rental was that it was very close, just a few minute from the terminal, so I did not have to take a shuttle to and from the rental! I highly recommend this place.
Great car in absolutely perfect condition. I felt the car was well looked after and not “just” a rental car. Having rented other cars with other companies, this hasn’t always been the case so it’s worth mentioning. All staff were friendly and well prepared, especially Nayel at vehicle return who went the extra mile by making sure I remembered the coat I’d left on the back seat.
This was our first time using Sixt, and we will definitely be back. The guys at Gatwick were very friendly and efficient, and the free upgrade to an Audi A1 automatic was a nice touch. The car was spotlessly clean, and was a pleasure to drive. The full to full policy on the fuel takes the guesswork out of refilling the car too. Thanks again guys, and we will see you again when we next need a car.
Overall good experience. Branch staff helpful, however when I returned my car they didn’t check it in until the next day resulting in me being invoiced for an extra day of hire - check your invoice they send!! Fortunately, when I called sixt customer service they very quickly corrected my invoice to the correct amount and overall I am satisfied with my rental experience and would still recommend.
Excellent service. The sales agent was polite, courteous and mindful of my needs. No hard sell, he just made sure I had exactly the perfect vehicle for my needs and onward journey. Thank you. As I was travelling to my brother’s funeral I was stressed but he made the whole process comfortable. Thank you.
Hired a great little car at a good price. It was immaculate and a beautiful ride. Helpful staff to show how it worked and receive it back. Do budget to add the fully comp insurance, additional to the one paid with the comparison site.
The staff I dealt with at Gatwick were pleasant, polite, and competent. There weren't as many attempts at on-selling services and add-ons as I have experienced with other rental companies. Still some, and I paid for the extra insurance, but I didn't feel overwhelmed or pressured. I was late for pickup and it wasn't an issue. There was a hiccup in their system at drop-off and the staff made efforts to ensure I was barely effected by it and they took care of everything while I went to my flight. Highly recommend.
Fully processed payment and booking for them to call me a few hours before collection demanding a credit card, to come in earlier and they need 24 hours notice!!!! What sort of backward business are you running? Talk about lack of info online and clarity! You’re now holding my funds for 4-7 days apparently for a refund. Awaiting to hear from a manager … will not be surprised if I don’t hear anything. Terrible system and service. I had/have plans ruined! Bravo!
From start to finish out experience with Sixt was excellent. Adam on the desk was very friendly and helpful. He went above and beyond to help with our needs as we had 2 large cases and we were concerned about the car we had booked via EasyJet. We took out the insurance cover offered as it was cheaper than EasyJet and received an Audi A3. A very happy customer. Thank you.
