Reviews
There are a few reviews about this surgery and I am a firm believer that the truth always lies somewhere in the middle. I have used their services for many years and think that maybe this is a good time I leave a review. As a lot of people have said, it is true that sometimes the wrong medication is administered to your animal. By 'wrong' I personally mean medication that is not tested enough for use on a particular animal and the potential counter-side effects outweigh any benefits. This has happened to me only once in 3-4 years, surprisingly by a very good vet. The medication was also advised to be given in double the allowed dose. Fortunately, I knew the medication and that it wasn't needed, had a second opinion and didn't administer it. I did administer the rest of the prescribed meds. Some comments have also mentioned things about the price. Indeed, sometimes the service I have received was below the standards and gave the impression that they only want to take money out of the clients. It is true that once I paid £200-£300 for 3-4 minutes admission. And there is no problem about spending money for your beloved pet, as you might agree, but it is the sign of disrespect when common sense is not used and people try to rip you off at such a hard time because they find you weak. Clients are not stupid because they love their animals, the fact that they are willing to pay means that you must provide a service good enough to pay for. Also, some vets might be considered 'incompetent' ; offering to examine animals when unsure. However, this has changed along the years and the last year the practice advises the clients on the phone about the help they can/cannot offer. This is particularly important so specialised help can be sought. Further, I have witnessed receptionists joking behind the back of clients and revealing information in front of other clients, encouraging other clients to join the joke. Again, receptionists are not always professional. ON the positive side, some vets, even if they don't have the qualifications, they show a true interest in animals and I have to admit that the help & care they provided to my budgie 3 years ago was above the standards and I don't think that an avian would be able to do anything more than what this lady vet did. They also showed respect for my budgie when I was around at least. However, they always administered the same treatment to every sick pet of mine; baytril. I had stopped using their services after the time they were disrespectful and overcharged me, I would only use them for emergencies once a year until my Avian was able to see the animal. However, today I visited the practice again and I am 110% satisfied with the service I received from the vet, Dr. Savvas. He was very helpful, took the time to explain to us what was going on, talked about all the options, spent extra time to answer all the questions and was particularly knowledgeable. If it was only for Dr. Ian and Dr. Savvas I would give 5 stars for sure. I don't know if their services have improved to the extent to compare with Avian Services but after my visit today, I feel more confident in trusting them again. Thus, the service you receive mainly depends on the vets who will serve you and at a surgery that people rotate around a lot this affects the quality of care. I guess this is the trade off for a 24h vet hospital.

Nice vets but clinics always running late - even first thing in the morning you have to wait at least 30 mins past appointment time

Avoid this vets if you love your dog Earls Hall overdosed our little chi with an unlicensed painkiller resulting in her death less than 2 days later in a great deal of pain when she wasn't in any pain to begin with.(they basically gave her the equivalent of Fentanyl). We only took her there as she was a bit off colour. Very little empathy We are devastated. She died there needlessly Avoid at all costs. There are so many better vets in the area

I have been using this vets for about 10 years, recently I have been there quite a few times as I have had a few problems with my dog. I always find the staff here to be so friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. They go out of their way to make the experience as easy as possible for both the owner and the pet. Nothing is too much trouble, everyone has a smile on their face and people and genuinely enjoying what they do. I cannot say enough good things about them. The practice is very clean, safe and accommodating. I highly recommend this vets to everybody.
