It may have been better 10 years ago but the whole building is in need of refurbishment. The men's shower & changing facilities are dirty and the toilets stink. Gym facilities are generally out of order for long periods and others need maintenance as machine weights stutter as they fall back into place. The pool and steam room are good but pretty small so it can be hard to get a lane when swimming. There's 2 hot tubs but I've been a member for 7 months and they've only just fixed the second one. For £32 pm on a 12 month contract it's pricy for the quality.

I've been a member of this gym since 2004 and feel it's time to air my views (and those of fellow members). Whilst still enjoying frequent visits to the facility we feel that the standards are dropping and, as a minimum, the following areas require urgent attention: 1. The inner entrance door doesn't close properly meaning the coffee area / reception is constantly bitterly cold. 2. The air conditioning in the studio adjacent to the office doesn't work properly resulting in the spinning class leaving the door open and deafening music spoiling relaxing time for others in the cafe area. 3. The pool temperature has for weeks been very cold and only in the last couple of days "appears" to have been rectified. 4. The jacuzzi temperatures are way below what they used to be and they are never both open at the same time, and far too often neither of them are open. The above are meant as constructive views and will hopefully lead to the issues being rectified. 4 weeks on and I wonder if anybody from DW actually reads these reviews. The front door issue has not been addressed, the steam room has been out of action more than it has been working in the last week, the jacuzzis have not been working most days in the last week and to top it all this morning I arrived at about 8am hoping to enjoy a swim, steam and jacuzzi only to be advised that because of a shortage of staff they couldn't open the pool area or give a rough idea when it would be open. A similar staff shortage occurred last Saturday. The description on the website hardly reflects reality. HOPEFULLY SOMEBODY WILL READ THIS AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

This place is never 100% with their facilities.Only ever 1 jacuzzi ever working,pool more than often cold,inconsistent sauna temperatures. The toilets stink & there are usually leaks from the urinals.The showers, in the men’s changing rooms could benefit with a good clean. There is a new council gym & pool facility about to open nearby,which will surely attract some of DW’s members.......someone should get this place sorted !

Joined here recently with an offer to give me vouchers off in the linked shop upstairs. Staff are all very friendly and attentive. Gym is spacious and kept clean and at a good temperature. The changing rooms and showers are a little old fashioned and it's all open plan with no private changing or shower areas but they're kept clean and working. The pool is a good temperature and the same depth throughout (4ft) and the jacuzzi is large and has a good massage function although there are two only one ever seems to be open. Overall though it's a good gym in a good location for bus routes out of town centre and nearby to an Asda so that you can get your shopping too. The price is reasonable compared to other gyms and there are no restrictions to classes and peak times and members get 10% discount in the store.

Been coming hear for about 6 months i have to force my self to come the gym area is good but the mens changing rooms and showers are a disgrace the showers have black slimey mould growing on the walls and looking at it its about as hygienic as a public toilet and am pritty sure council and environmental heath would have a ball the steam room now and again stinks of wee wich i would say by that its never cleand cant wait to cancil sooner pay a bit more for some where thats at least clean
