We hired a conference room for our AGM and attended one of the Christmas party rooms. The food throughout the day was to a great standard for a hotel like this. The Christmas party room was also a great atmosphere and I recommend if you’re a small business to consider this place. The staff were really helpful throughout the day. First time staying at the holiday Inn marina hull. This trip was planned for my daughter’s 3rd birthday as great location to TheDeep and local restaurants and shops so plenty to do in this area. The staff are amazing at there jobs so friendly and helpful throughout our stay big thanks to Kerry hotel reservations for those extra birthday touches in our room, my daughter was so excited when she walked in the room.nWe would come back to this hotel just for the staff alone as they made our stay just perfect and breakfast was great the next day plenty of choice and the staff happy to help in anyway possible, Louise and team thanks for keeping my little one entertained with crayons and colouring sheets and offering to do her pancakes. Will definitely return as had such a wonderful stay .
Nice greeting from staff. Not easy to get to due to the major roadworks. Easy and plenty of parking.nnWe have stayed in many IHG hotels for the past 35 years and this is one of the poorest. In major need of refurbishment in the bedrooms.nnWe stayed in Rm231. Cold on entering. Turned on air conditioning to find there's no heat just cooling. Turned on original heating system 1990's? to find two fan speeds; 1st, noisy; 2nd, louder with added squeak.nnHad to ask for a radiator. Provided.nnRoom reminded me of one of those quality inns of the 1970s; the walls dulled with smokers' tar. Dinghy, poorly lit, unwelcoming room and bathroom. The room looks nothing like the photos on the website, included in review.nnI was offered another room but was told they're all the same. No point changing then.nnWhen I'm paying this price I expect more. Something welcoming, warm, feeling comfortable.nnWill not stay on our list. I'd suggest chancing the Holiday Inn Express in the centre of Hull, probably more up to date.nnAt breakfast, a member of the waiting staff clearly had the sniffles, and to assist this, used their hand to wipe this away, then wiped their hands on their trouser, and proceeded without cleaning their hands, to handle breakfast bowls, moving food containers, etc.. Clearly a lack of standard food hygiene. Spoke to management who said they'd address this.nnOn checking out this morning, management accepted the poor quality of the rooms and a major refurbishment is planned.
We booked for our anniversary, was the best decision ever, staff were lovely Pagie on the front desk gave us all the hints and tips for the area and was so inviting. Also got to mention Ian in the restaurant he made our evening meal just magical. The whole stay was just wonderful.
Brilliant location with a nice view of Marina. Check in staff and breakfast staff were great. Able to leave bags at the hotel when we checked out which was great. Breakfast was very good, lots to choose from. Room had comfortable beds. Bathroom shower could do with update and loo sometimes didn't flush. Disappointed that we were not told in advance that the restaurant was closed in the evening for an event. We went in a function room for dinner but it was really cold, no music, poor view of car park and first member of staff was quite rude when I wanted more time to choose drinks. Second member of staff was much better and apologised for the wait. We would stay here again.
