On my mission to review every bar in the Metropolitan area of Dublin, Drop Dead Twice was the next stop on my list early on a Saturday Night. It is a dive bar through and through with craft beers on tap, Guinness €5.50 and bottles of Buckfast. There is a not-so-obvious stairwell to the right by the entrance which takes you to the upstairs 'saloon' with the option for B.Y.O.C - where you bring your own cocktails or ingredients and the bar-tender upstairs will make you a cocktail. There is a pool-table downstairs as well as a variety of seats from couches to high-stools. A stage is located at the end of the bar as well as a DJ booth it is advised to follow the Facebook page to get all the details on events. The staff were friendly and good conversationalists. The kind of music heard during my time at Drop Dead Twice ranged from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, LIT and the Boomtown Rats to Reggae which was played later on. Conclusion: a true Dive bar without the try hard or pretence of other self-described dive bars in Dublin. A place good for drinking solo or going with groups e.g. Birthday parties or friends or simply a place to kick back and relax after a long week at work!
Lovely pub on Francis Street with great drink offerings, cocktails and the chance to eat #pizza from Serious Dough scrumptious - great music and vibes -
I did an amazing event for these people to help as they owed everyone money I worked for a month on my event . The bar had to be restocked 3 times and they had no staff on and tried to say it didn’t make money Shocking how they treat genuine people. Stay well away from this guys .looking for handouts from everyone because they don’t know how to run a bar .Kelly comes across lovely and will call you dumpling but won’t pay people.Stay stay well away . Have some integrity and tell people the truth.
Went for the bottomless bubbles brunch. I got the fried chicken and waffles and my wife hot the fruit and Brioche. They were both delicious. Plenty of room for us to chat, stuff our faces and drink away. Will definitely return! Great value for food especially with our Groupon voucher.
Fantastic place, friendly Staff great atmosphere. Drinks and cocktails are fantastic
Popped in her on Saturday for a couple of drinks with my partner. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and a real mixture of customers. It is possible to order pizza from the place next door which we will try next time we go here. There was drag show due to start later that evening, but unfortunately we had to leave early. But we'll definitely be back.
I visited Drop Dead Twice for brunch on a Sunday with a voucher for a brunch for 2 and took my brother with me. The booking process was really smooth. We ordered Eggs with Salmon and a Steak & Cheese sandwich, Cinnamon bites and Nutella cheesecake and a cocktail each. I had the Cool As and my brother a passion-fruit flavored one. The mains were really good but the deserts were amazing! The Cool As cocktail gin, ginger, cucumber and basil is a new favorite of mine. The Passion fruit based one was too sweet for my taste but my brother loved it. Only negative point for this place are the toilets where there was no paper nor hand drier but it might have been just a contingency. Overall, I'll definitely go back for brunch and the great cocktails and I'd like to try their BYO cocktail formula.
Nice and cheap drinks. The majority of the staff were lovely, however, one guy ruined our night. The young bartender with short curly hair was very disrespectful towards me and was hitting on my partner, which made us both extremely uncomfortable. We quickly left afterward.
This bar came highly recommended. It was a huge let down to come here last night and find the place in total disorder and smelling like raw sewage. The staff paid absolutely zero attention to us and seemed to be running between the back of the bar and the front door to take smoke breaks. There was this small dog also loose in the bar peeing on the floor much to the delight of some of the customers probably the source of the smell. I’m a dog person but I’m really scratching my head trying to figure out how this is okay. We left after 5 minutes.
Such a great concept. BYOB and pay for the mixers and expertise that makes delicious cocktails. Always surprised with amazing ingredients. Definitely a regular here.
