Was craving for fish and chips in york and drakes fish n chips was one of the suggested place. Ordered their regular haddock fish and chips + mushy peas The portion is big ! Couldnt finish all my chips. The fish was cooked perfectly. My friend ordered their tacos and was surprised by their portion as well. Both food were reasonably priced Would really recommend this place if you want to have big portion of fish & chips ! Service wise was average as we were seated indoors and it was quite hard to get their waitresses attention. But overall, highly recommended
If you want fish and chips in York, this is the place. Plenty on the menu to choose from, lovely restaurant/seating area as well as take away. Food was cooked to perfection. Staff were lovely. Well...I've just got to say it....Drake's is THE best fish and chips that I've ever had!!! And that's saying a lot! Chips...perfect. Fish...full of flavour and beautifully cooked. Fish batter...light and crunchy. No grease. Curry sauce...fantastic! Simply the best!
Superb fish and chips in the centre of York. The best you will find in this city. Worth any wait in a queue. Good portions and reasonable price.
The best fish and chip tea I've ever had! We were visiting York for the day and were recommended to go here for fish and chips. There was a small queue but we only waited 5 minutes to be seated. The fish tasted delicious and the batter was crispy and wasn't dripping with oil. The chips were a beautiful colour and lovely and fluffy inside. All washed down with a pot of Yorkshire Tea! Perfect.
Absolutely amazing! I, like most people eat with my eyes and we walked past this place and saw how good it looked. The taste did not dissapoint. The haddock was some of the freshest and juiciest I've had. We will be back again!
I'd always seen queue's walking past here, and I went by one afternoon. The chips tasted amazing and the fish wrap was great too- there was a spicy mayonnaise inside which was so good!
5* for all. The fish was very fresh and tasty and the chips was very good as well with good portion of sous such as curry garlic and gravy. The atmosphere was very good with excellent services. Thank you. We will come back next time.Food: 5/5
Visited as part of a 3 day weekend with my Father. Esther was our server for the evening; charismatic and kind she seated us in a cosy alcove swiftly. We both had haddock and chips, I had mint tea, mushy peas and ciabtta. He had brown bread and Yorkshire tea. I also indulged and had the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. Delicious portion of fish, good crunchy batter and a boneless slice of haddock. The chips were moreish and were just enough on the plate. A nice ambiance in the restaurant which contributed to a lovely evening out.
Just sat outside with a very tasty sausage In batter, plus a generous portion of freshly cooked chunky chips. Price? £4.00! Tremendous value for money, plus a lovely lady served me... Recommended!
