Medium haddock chips small curry sauce and a can of pop £13.70 absolute daylight robbery. I was gobsmacked when the server told me the price. Needless to say I said are you sure that is the right price she said yes we have had to put our prices up. So I said no thank you and walked out without ordering and I won't be back total greed!!!!
We were staying in Acomb and were recommended this as the best fish and chip shop in the area. They lived up to their reputation. Free batter bits were on offer!Food: 5/5
Had cod & chips twice 2 curry sauce 2 bread cakes last night £28 fish dry not nice at all couldn't taste the curry sauce wish I had got Indian instead very expensive
Ordered via PayPal, driver delivered to wrong house, had the cheek to say we changed our address on PayPal for a free order I know times are hard but give it a rest, phone service is shocking, lost a loyal customer because of your accusations.
Lovely food but the delivery people are RUDE. EDIT - As of Sept '22, seems they've completely checked out. Not accepting online orders, not answering their phone and last order we had was, bluntly, terrible. Way to stand out guys, nice work.
Ordered fish and chips x2 and a sausage for my dog. When my order came it was cold and I was looking so forward to them. I payed just short of 30 pound for them. Even the peas and curry sauce was cold. So if you like hot food don't go to Bartons in york. All had to go in bin.
My friendly local fish and chip shop, always been good fish and chips and great service but they just got greedy!! £10.20 for MEDIUM fish and chips!!! What a shame, won't be going back and been going for 7 years.
Great quality fish and chips etc. They do have 'meal deals' and small bites. We go there every Friday for work Fish n chip Fridays are popular and we've never had any complaints
Just had a delivery from Bartons and we were delighted by how hot the food was on arrival. Great quality and portion sizes. The fish was delicious and perfectly cooked. Very pleasant staff member who delivered our order too. Easy to order on line and delivered in just over an hour.
Large portions and tasty, but a bit greasy. Staff worked hard to clear queue, but also have to deal with telephone orders. Price good for size of meal, recommend you buy one bag of chips for every two fish. You can also park outside which is handy. Long line outside at popular times, patience is a virtue
