I have been unwell for the last week due to being without essential medicines that I have been taking for 12 years. This due to yet another failure of the Practice to facilitate my repeat prescription. This happens most months when I am in desperate need of my medications: every month it is a battle with them to complete a simple procedure effectively. Indeed, they are so incompetent I am beginning to wonder if they are being deliberately obstructive! Of course I complain again and again...perhaps this is why they are so inept. Sign on with this practice at your peril: they are absolutely dreadful. Would have given 0 stars or a negative rating if I could...
My husband came back from the doctors after seeing Nurse Beki Collier and he was so impressed how she listened and acted on his health problems. I have seen her twice this month and she was so professional, easy to talk to and I came away feeling a lot better than I went in. My health problem was sorted so quickly. Thank you.
Experience getting an appointment is terrible - had to wait up to an hour on hold in the past and when through to someone they rush you along. Update - went in for my 10:10 appointment was told to come a few minutes early to fill in patient forms arrived at 10am checked in and waited in a que to get my form - supervisor at the window when I returned my form said I was now late for my appointment and that she had been on the desk the entire time - she was not the person that got me my forms and was very rude. Not expected when I’m just trying to get to appointment I appreciate it being busy however I was here 10 minutes before my appointment to give extra time, I cannot help it if there is a que. Shocking.
Worst service imaginable. Every single time I call at 8am for an appointment I only get an engaged tone for 20 - 30 minutes non stop. sometimes it rings but then I get cut off after listening to the tedious intro. When I dop finally get through, I get told there are no appointments left, and to call back at 12pm. If I call back at 12pm, it's the exact same scenario. This surgery is scamming its patients. I remember a time when we used to queue in person and you would see at least around 100 people pass through the doors and queue for as many as 5 doctors on duty. Now, they seem to have all of about 20 appointments or so - judging by the phone situation. This situation has been like this for quite a few years now - I have suggested they introduce a phone system with a caller queue as that might give us all a fairer chance of getting through but they won't do it. I am now looking to find another surgery after 50 years with this one. Avoid this place like the plague - totally inept.
You know what? It REALLY upsets me everytime I check for the phone number that MY doctors has such a bad review score. Whats wrong with you people? They are helping you!! All the girls in the office, all the doctors I've seen all the nurses are lovely. I won't have a bad word said against them, they even went above and beyond for me during covid. I dont even know why Doctors are being reviewed to be honest, but, as the grumpy brigade have clearly been on here I feel the need to stand up for them. I feel lucky to have had them as my Doctors for thirty seven years.
You have 2 exceptional staff members at Beaconside HC which certainly should get recognition for their excellent customer care. These 2 staff members go above & beyond to help the patient & I felt compelled to put a comment about their professional attitude & assistance. Michelle Atkinson & Zoe Hadley thank you for all you both do & I personally appreciate all of the help you have both given to my family & myself Thank you got all you do Hilary Lotinga
In agreement with some of the other reviews here of how poorly managed this surgery has become. I was given a window for a telephone appointment between 1pm and 3.30pm. I use my phone for work purposes and missed the call at 14.32. I rang the surgery immediately to tell them I think I'd missed my appointment and could the doctor please ring back, to which I was told I hadn't missed the call and I was next in the queue. I waited until 4pm for a call. I rang the surgery back to be told the doctor had left the surgery and there was a cross through my name. I now have to wait another 10 days for a reschedule. Appalling.
Really poor communication, no follow up letter on x-Ray, always a fight to get an appointment. I find it outrageous that for such a massive catchment area we have one GP surgery and the GP’s rotate between another surgery too. Used to be decent about 5 years ago, gone really downhill.
If & when you can get to see a Doctor, I would say the place is great, however there in lays the problem. The booking system is appalling. You have a slot to ring in the morning or afternoon for appointments & the line is just permanently busy. You can't wait/queue, you have to try to keep ringing back. Between my wife & I we jointly tried 237 times one morning. This is ridiculous in this day and age, they appear to have a single telephone line without a queuing system. I get very little time to make calls generally due to work, so in the end I just give up.
Difficult to get through on the phone. They cancelled one of my appointments without a reason and asked me to rearrange it. Upon ringing to re-book it I was told they were fully booked throughout May and wouldn't book me in for June unless I called back on or after 13th May. Very frustrating.
