I would give it zero stars if I could. Rung to make an appointment 10 people in the queue before me. Took over two hours to be answered by a message telling me they were busy and to try again later. Absolutely terrible service. Wasted two hours of my day. If nobody is going to answer then just close the switchboard down. Disgusting service.
Has been going downhill. Its like the staff aren't really putting the effort in or need upskilling. Just over the last few months we've had... appointment booked with the wrong person, given the wrong date for an appointment, told to ring somewhere else for an appointment which was closed, appointment cancelled last minute. When it was covid vaccines they just didn't get back or follow up about a critical item. That's not to mention the attitude of some of the staff you speak to and the awful phone queuing and answering. If there was a different local practice we would move.
I used to praise the practice to everyone but recently the surgery has failed so many in terms of answering the phones. I've tried to make a flu vaccine appointment all week and no answer. Strange that a neighbour was in there recently and said he never heard the phone ring once.
Attended for 4th covid vaccination after being called up by NHS. Attended, completed the form highlighting suppressed immune system and the GP asked just before my vaccination why at the age of 45 I'm getting it.. had to discuss my personal medical condition openly with other patients around. Simply shocking and will be raising with the appropriate NHS Trust/ regulative body. Recently Relocated to Stafford and won't recommend anyone to come here.
I may not get the appointment I want today at Brewood Surgery, today, but can only praise the staff , who are patient and very helpful. They are inundated with calls, especially on a Monday.I was15th in the queue by 8:01am and many calls following, including online requests. It must be difficult to prioritise and takes time. We are grateful for times recently when we have been seen within hours.
Evan 1 star is to much. Constantly chasing up controlled medication prescribed and on repeat from the hospital. To which having withdrawal symptoms. They don't care. Staff on phone are rude. 59 minutes 46 seconds waiting in the phone cue. Disgusting practice. STAY WELL CLEAR PEOPLE INCOMPETENT CLOWNS
If you would like to understand why A&E departments are so overrun with patients, then start by trying to book an appointment with Brewood Medical Practice. My experience is that the wait time to have a call answered is typically 40+ minutes. Thereafter appointments can be days later. It is clearly a problem, but why is this allowed to be 'normal'? There does not appear to be a staff shortage as there is always a large impressive array of new cars in the staff car park. So is the initial part of the problem that insufficient resource is actually applied to communicating with the patient? Perhaps the practice managers should consider the people who ultimately pay their wages as people who they are actually there to serve? I am sure that this Practice is little different from many others.
After moving to the area this doctors came highly recommended by a friend, we are no longer friends with this person due to that recommendation. You will have to wait on average about 40 minutes to get through to a receptionist, and I have to call every 2 weeks so I'm not exaggerating, 40 minutes is a good day! If you order a repeat prescription you could be told 48 hours or 72 depending on receptionist and you might get it signed off around the 96th hour. Absolute shocking service can't wait to find a new practice.
You have to wait at least 40 minutes for the phone to be answered, even longer if you call in the morning. The in person appointments are always running late but there seems to be very few patients there. The one receptionist is very rude. They try to diagnose you over the phone or get you to fill in an online form rather than giving you an appointment, this has resulted in an incorrect prescription for my 5 month old baby.
My son had an acute respiratory issue this week - Dr Sani and team saw within a couple of hours same day, realised that he was deteriorating, gave oxygen, relevant medications and cannulated before getting him blue-lighted to New Cross. Amazing service in very difficult circumstances. The paediatric emergency team at New Cross specifically commmented what a great job the GP has done - I can only concur. Thankyou to the whole team.
