Very tidy budget hotel with clean and fairly modern rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Free Carpark. No restaurant or bar on site, but all facilities are within walking distance as it is located near motorway services. Discount food vouchers available in reception.

Nice hotel, does the job. Good value. Only disadvantage is it is at a motorway services so have to venture out for food but that reflects the price.

I will never stay at this hotel again. This hotel is located at the motorway services. Everything was fine when I checked in. Then I went to Southampton town for dinner. Took me 10 minutes to reach my destination. Left my dinner place at 10pm to have a good nights rest. Instead arrived back quarter to 1am because of road closures leading towards the motorway. At first I tried to follow my satv nav that rerouted me to another entrance to the motorway but that was also closed. As Ive never been here before Im not familiar to the roads and rely completely on my sat nav. Anyway I was going to and fro the two entrances to the motorway twice, and on the third time i decided to try to follow their diversion signs, which eventually took me to another entrance to the motorway that was also blocked. I finally gave up and called the hotel only to be told nonchalantly by the receptionist that the only road to hotel is blocked (since its on the motorway), and that I needed to call the highway maintenance guy to allow me access. I understand that sometimes road closures are unavoidable but if you are the hotel management and you know that the only way to access to the hotel is by calling the highway maintenance guy to escort you through the highway all the way to the hotel, YOU SHOULD INFORM YOUR GUESTS WHEN THEY CHECK IN OR AT LEAST PUT A NOTICE OUT SOMEWHERE AT THE RECEPTION OR EXIT AREA THAT IF YOU ARE GOING OUT AND COMING BACK AFTER A CERTAIN TIME THE ROADS WILL BE CLOSED AND THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO CALL THE HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE GUY TO ESCORT YOU IN, AND PUT THE NUMBER OF THE HIGHWAY GUY ON THE NOTICE. WHAT IF I HAVE NO BATTERY ON MY PHONE TO CALL THE HOTEL, SINCE I WASNT EXPECTING TO MAKE ANY CALLS. Simple but effective but unfortunately the management of Days Inn do not have rhat foresight. When I finally got back I asked the receptionist why wasnt I informed of the road closure. Her brilliant answer was "Everyone checked in at 3pm and the roads were still opened then. Its now past midnight. So its late now. " I said I have been trying to get back since 10pm, although I do not understand what point she is trying to make. This is the first time Im staying here. I come to Southampton monthly for meetings, but I usually stay elsewhere. This will also be my last time staying here.

This hotel was excellent really clean and really quiet staff was really nice as well rooms were excellent for the price

Very efficient stop over for a business meeting the next day in the area. Welcoming staff and comfortable, clean rooms. Excellent choice right by the motorway.
