A little bit too expensive for what you are getting in return. The customer service isn't consistent.  I used the opportunity of £14 for 14 days, and for that price it was ok, however to join for a year I was presented with £115 a month membership. For that sort of price I expect a consistently good experience and customer services not just on and off. Some receptionists were moody and not very helpful. A Lady who signed me in, was pleasant however she made me wait 45 min on the first day before I event got my card, besides I had to pull information out of her to find out where are the changing rooms, gym, pool and how I start using the facilities in general -  very poor performance for a sales manager, in my opinion, particularly when looking to convince someone to sign on for the full membership. 
Also, I am not keen on the ladies changing rooms, there are many kids running around screening and in places designated only for adults. Saunas are tiny (max 3 people would get in). Pool and steam rooms are nice and usually quiet and generally clean.
I also liked the cafe area as was fairly peaceful on a week day and it has wi-fi, for a health club however, I'd expect more fruit and healthy options to be on offer.
In terms of classes, I very much liked all of them (body balance, grit, yoga, bums and tums), the instructors and the gym staff were very helpful and enthusiastic, also the rooms were big and air conditioned, so it was a pleasure to take part.  However, some classes I was keen to join were only available as 'virtual' so not the best offer for over£100 a month as for that I can stay at home and watch YouTube.

A state and staff rude. Unlike the Leicester one where I am a member. I cannot believe you are charging people £80 for a membership when it is so small and so segregated when I only pay £50 for mine in Leicester (meridian) and it is so much more spacious, pleasant staff and enjoyable. I will not return to the david lloyd in Reading as my one and only experience was appaling

Great gym and friendly staff. Bit aged compared to other DLs, but currently having a refurbishment so should bring it up!

Bad experience, found tiny maggots in the steam room, monthly price is very expensive, and so are the food/drinks at the bar (£10 for simple pastas, are you joking?!). Staff was lovely but now the club is asking me to pay 3 months of notice, which is excessive. I will never subscribe there ever and discourage anyone to do so. Also, other gym clubs much cheaper offer the same kind of equipment and facilities.

As you would expect from a David lloyd the place is tidy and a great place to eat until you get served!!!!! People beware of ANDRE SILVA.  He's attitude stinks. He's people skills are disgusting and he was very rude. I have dietry requirements.  Which I ask him to help me change one of the foods. He basically said no and we wouldn't do anything to help. Which I find very surprising as the lady who works there is fantastic with my food. She's a great help and always meets my needs.
