Story

The only 4 star hotel on the Yorkshire coast; under an hour’s journey from York, Hull, Middlesborough and Leeds; making an excellent base from which to discover the real Yorkshire; the dales, moor and coastal hamlets. The hotel dominates the centre piece of a listed Victorian terrace which commands the finest cliff top location of any Yorkshire coast hotel. Looking south to Flamborough Head and north to the castle and Harbour and vistas of the sea and South Bay beach. The “Scarborough Spa Theatre Complex” is very close and the vibrant town centre to the North is just a short walk along the quiet and exclusive South Cliff Esplanade over the iron built “Spa Pedestrian Bridge” which towers above the “Rotunda Museum” and “Aquarium Top."

5 stars the hotel was of a five star standard. Facilities at the hotel are brilliant and the staff are helpful and friendly. We stayed for 2 nights and ate in the restaurant on the second night, great food, good choice of menu, really good service. The free spa facilities include pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, ice room and foot spa The dry side consists of a gym and stretch room. We were upgraded to a balcony room with a magnificent view . We will definitely return, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you to all the staff for a great break.

Beautiful hotel situated on the South Bay cliffs. Very well kept with a tidy room. Unfortunately my room was not a sea view. Breakfast was lovely but I ate out each day for other meals. Included in my stay was the use of the SPAR and gym. I didn't use them but my friends did and thought they were good. One surprise I had was the fire alarm testing on the Friday morning at 11am.

A very good hotel with incredible views when you book sea view rooms. We booked on their website, it was painless and the booking personnel were very nice when I got in touch. Everything was nice and as expected but cleanliness wasn't the best. We had to give the toilet and the sink a wipe down. But then again, their complimentary towels, robes and toiletries were perfect. There was a tea/coffee counter in the room as well with supplies being topped up everyday. Furniture were nice too albeit a bit tired perhaps. Spa was great, staff were very friendly and helpful. It's short walk from the beach with nice cafes and lovely views. The park on the slope was literally across the road and it's a very pleasant walk in the morning as the sun rises. We had breakfast at their restaurant every morning. It was nice and the staff were very helpful.

Decent gym on site. Some (cheaper) rooms are not great so have had to request a move in the past. The sea facing rooms are decent though. Fresh coffee & cafetiere in the room is a nice inclusion when working in the room at the laptop!

Wonderful hotel with very friendly, helpful staff, lovely clean spacious rooms with extremely comfortable beds. Great food and drink with lots of choice, from continental/cooked breakfast through to evening dinner. We have stayed eight times now, and are going back again in a few months. It is very convenient for the spa complex and only a ten minute walk to the beach.
