Lovely, hot and tasty meal here. We had a mini feast. We don't come from the north east so to us it seemed like the staff were quite cool and reserved towards us but not rude. I think maybe it's just how they are in these parts. I think each area has it's own personality that needs a respect and acceptance that's all. Thanks all at the cooper rose.
The food here is unreal! The atmosphere is great. Nicest wetherspoons I've been to. Will definitely be back.
This seems to the more popular of the two Wetherspoons in Sunderland and is visited by people of all age groups, there are a lot of university students that head here due to it's attractive pricing and the quality that wetherspoons provide. I particularly enjoy watching football games there with a large screen and a projector and the ambience seems to be buzzing
What a great bar. It was full of friendly people and we had a lovely day. The best bar in Sunderland. We'll definitely be back. The staff were very efficient and friendly and the prices were really cheap. Definitely recommend.
Very helpful and efficient staff, nice well presented food for very reasonable prices. I was advised on a 15 minute wait but the food arrived quicker than expected. It was also clean and tidy. Overall a good experience.

Want to give their bar staff some customer service training. Some of the rudest ones I’ve come across. Constantly asking for ID when you need to show it to the doormen to get in anyway, pulling faces when you ask for straws or want to pay cash. A young Asian woman told refused to serve me, stating I’d ‘had enough’ when I had not even had a drink at this point. Walked up stairs and a much cheerier young woman served me no problem so had my time wasted to have to get upstairs to get a drink. The Asian woman was then looking at me talking to people behind the bar, making me feel very uncomfortable until I left. I had to leave because of her. Bouncers were fine with me, as they always are and didn’t refuse me entry after I had a cigarette after being told I’d ‘had enough’ by the nasty Asian woman. I suggest you give her more training as I’m afraid to say she isn’t up to the job.
I hadn't been in a while as it's a bit too crowded at times for my taste. I was pleasantly surprised to find they offered numerous non-alcoholic beers and ciders. For this reason, I will return.
Being a new restaurant I hope they had better decorations. Is not but they have another one more impressive. I have being on winter so no had opportunity to see the top floor terrace. Food as always perfect on quality vs price
I've visited many wetherspoons and some are good, some are poor. This is amongst the good ones, really friendly staff and decent food and cheap alcohol .... exactly what you'd expect
