Convenient location super close to the main train station & shopping area. Lovely staff at reception. However, the hotel is outdated & did not feel safe, even in my room. I don’t think it was unclean but it was very grubby given it’s in serious need of a refurbishment. As others have said it is noisy & even though I am a very solid sleeper I had a terrible night.
Would never stay again. Strange smell on walking into the room. Booked by work as the cheapest option clearly. No restaurant, placed on the second floor can hear everything both next door above and right opposite the door to the stairwell. Rooms are outdated and need deep cleaned. TV remote with electrical tape holding it together and batteries as old as anything. Can hear next door banging around with paper thin walls. Poor cleanliness, attention to detail and needs massively modernising. I can sleep anywhere but hardly slept.
I always thought star ratings for hotels was for the level of facilities a hotel provides not the physical condition of it. The first thing we noticed was the bathroom door didn't fit into the casing properly and looked like it had recently been patched up. The shower rail was held together with insulation tape. The bathroom ceiling was mouldy. The window in our room wouldn't close properly so we got to enjoy the full audio of Birmingham centre over the weekend so got zero sleep. Extremely disappointed and will not be recommending that venue to anyone. Rooms: Shabby run down Safety: Extremely steep staircase
This hotel has seen better days. Bed uncomfortable, one thin pillow, single glazing, noisy outside and noisy guests throughout the night, TV remote falling to pieces and TV screen weird colours, ancient and tiny lift difficult to use and frankly a bit scary. The worst points were 1 that the first room I was given was still in the process of being painted with dust sheets and paint pots everywhere; and 2 the high pitched, continuous alarm or mechanical whine from outside that kept me awake all night.
I was extremely disappointed with my stay. The place was very dirty and extremely old, far from what I expected and what i saw in the pictures here. There were marks of dirt on the sheets, and to make matters worse, I found hair in the bathroom, which made the whole experience feel unhygienic. The lack of cleanliness was truly unacceptable + there was mud everywhere, even smelling all over the place. I asked to change the room but the second one was exactly the same. Additionally, i've decided to leave next day in the morning and find another hotel but because my luggage was delayed 2 days and i couldnt reach out airport service, i've asked the manager if they can keep my luggage to my colleagues room so i can pick it up. The guy was extremely rude, yelling at me that he will not keep it and i should be honest about the reason im leaving early, something that was a lie since i mentioned clearly to 3 people that there is mud and smell everywhere and i cannot breath properly. I would not recommend staying here unless serious improvements are made.
Great place with lovely staff. The only downside was the construction site opposite was so noisy at night, I couldn't sleep. Other than that, great night and very clean. Well satisfied.. Rooms: Very clean and tidy. Food & drinks: Constant supply of tea and coffee, very happy..
Not reccommended for long stay Lift is too small and horrible for people carrying luggages. I booked single room and the first room the gave me have a stinky and musty toilet that i had requested changing to another room. Here is view from the second room on 2nd floor - quite scary. It also quite noisy downstair on Saturday cant sleep
Terrible experience at this hotel. It was nothing like the photos seen during booking. Immediately left after seeing my room.Rooms: 1/5
There's no way to big this up, this place is an absolute stinking tip of a hotel. Save your money and sleep in the bins outside, they're probably cleaner and better maintained. What a hole.Rooms: 1/5
Absolutely useless, they're "official website" that would've been vetted from someone within the company isn't there official website. The customer service is like talking to a brick wall with absolutely 0 help. They simply repeat the same fact over and overRooms: 1/5
