Adequate for a business trip. 15mins walk to the ICC. Just stayed one night at this budget hotel, although at just under £150 it's hardly budget!! My room was very basic but clean and tidy. The bed was softer than I prefer, and I woke up with a stiff back. The carpet was covered in stains and needs replacing. There's no bath, but the shower was hot and powerful which is a big plus for me and prevented a 2*rating for the room.
Excellent location - right in the city centre. Ideal for the shops, bars, restaurants etc. Very clean and the staff are polite and friendly. Rooms are a good size. There's a slight issue with noise. I also couldn't get my tv to work but overall it was a good stay. Walkability: 5 minute walk into town
Broken light, stains on the carpet, the chair etc, air con that makes the room hotter it went from 21 to 23 degrees despite it being 17 outside? Had a lovely plug socket in my bed and I mean in? Electrical fire anyone? Walkability: Handy for the city centre and new street station. lifts to all floors so access isn't a problem.
Nice hotel, food was lovely and the rooms are very spacious. Very close to the bull ring for anyone who wants to do a bit of shoppingRooms: 5/5
Honestly the hotel rooms could do with a little bit more cleaning & updating but they are comfy & to a fair standard of cleanliness. The highlight of the hotel is definitely the bar area with free games of darts, shuffle board & pool Would recommend if you want a night out in Birmingham with a good bar/activitie space at your accommodation Breakfast is a good selection of hot and continental dishes! They do juices and smoothies which was a nice touch Walkability: 5 minute walk from the cube & the mailbox 15 minute walk from Broad Street 10 minutes to the bullring Very close to everything which was nice
Lilly and Harry on reception were extremely helpful and accommodating. Rooms very clean and Diane on room service was very professional. All round value for money and location to Birmingham City Centre was excellent. Will definitely be back. Rooms: Functional bedroom and good bed, bathroom fixtures and fittings all worked and the shower was 10/10.
I recently braved a stay at the Birmingham Pentahotel, an experience I'll never forget—mostly because I thought I might not survive. Nestled in an area that gives "sketchy" a whole new meaning, I spent most of my time time walking to and from the hotel dodging questionable characters. Inside, it felt like I had checked into a sauna, with temperatures soaring to levels where even Satan would sweat. The air conditioning was more of a decorative piece, utterly useless and indifferent to my suffering. The TV? A lovely, non-functional artifact from the past, mocking me silently. If you're looking for an adventure in discomfort and a free sauna experience, this is the place for you. Otherwise, steer clear unless you enjoy living on the edge—in more ways than one! On the plus side, it was cheap, my bed was devoid of bugs and the staff were friendly.
Amazing location, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful interior. Good range of food to choose from. Safe parking behind the hotel. Would highly recommend and will be returning a lot. Rooms: Lovely, spacious, comfortable bed and shower waw lovely. Nearby activities: Lanes bowling, a vast ammount of restaurants and bars, the bull ring shopping centre, the mail box and grand Central. Safety: Security staff were great, felt safe that you could only enter the hotel via the lifts and stairs with room key card. Walkability: So close to all restaurants, bars and canals and access to town centre. Food & drinks: Great choice and variety of food.
Unexpectedly quirky. Good vibe throughout the hotel which has a great bar downstairs with shuffle board and interactive darts when it's working. Free pool table in the lounge area. Free fast WiFi throughout. Car parking is tricky but NCP horsefair is a 5 minute walk. Good meeting room spaces and food options were delicious. Midday checkout too! Highly recommend.
