Really enjoyed our visits here. On a short break, camping nearby we ate here 3 nights in a row. We did not stay in the hotel, but judging by the same faces each night, i think a lot of the guests were. The staff were very friendly and more than happy to have a chat with you. Food was excellent. Between us we had the steak and ale pie, the haddock & chips, Chicken breast with leek & bacon sauce, Gammon, and a few of the starters. Out of all the Steak & Ale pie was the show-stopper for myself, fantastic portion, all meat, and a struggle to finish. Cost was approx £45 per visit for 2 people with a drink each, main each and a starter between us. Hotel appears to be Very dog friendly as most tables seemed to have a dog or 2 under them! I'd be more than happy to eat again on future visits. Parking was a bit limited, but we found a space each visit. One last thing to note - someone has good taste! One night there appeared to be a billy idol album playing and pink Floyd the next! Many thanks to the team for looking after us.
Highly recommend!!! Super food, staff, atmosphere just a lovely place. They are dog friendly and have a small area for dining with dogs but also other areas without. Definitely book if you have a dog with you as very busy. Lovely seating outside too. Haven’t stayed at hotel but if it’s anything like the pub/restaurant it will be great I’m sure.
Had dinner here mid week, thankfully I'd rang ahead and booked a table as it was really busy. Nice welcoming pub, bar team were really helpful and friendly. There were some really nice beers on tap. I had the Lamb Henry which was fantastic and the Mrs had the steak pie, which was right up there as one of the best ever. Thanks Team Coledale, great job.
Beautiful location, lots of outdoor seating in the garden to enjoy the scenery. We had a really nice, comfortable spotless room. Can't really comment on the food, we were only there for a couple of days, just to say it wasn't to our taste.Rooms: 4/5
Lamb Henry was absolutely delicious, best we’ve had!! It was so tender and the gravy was Devine!! Veg was cooked nice and soft and the mash was perfect . Apple and blackberry crumble and custard was a massive portion and was very tasty. Gorgeous views with comfy dining with Friendly staff. Has a large outdoor seating area with breathtaking views. Would definitely return.
Great after a walk always a blazing fire going in winter. Warm and welcoming with a good selection of beers and drinks. Food is lovely but would definitely recommend booking a table as it gets busy. Dog friendly.Service: 4/5
Had a lovely meal here. If you sit outside the view is fantastic, especially when the sun is going down. Good choices on the menu and some real effort made with the veggie choices. Would definitely recommend.Service: 5/5
Lovely place from what I could see. Tentative bar staff and nice beer garden. I just got a drink and buts after walking but the food coming out looked great. Wish I'd eaten there now!
Had a meal at the coledale inn while staying at the caravan site in the village. Absolutely delicious could not fault it at all. Lovely place, great views, would definitely recommend to anyone. Maybe slightly more expensive than anywhere else that we have eaten in all week but it was worth it.
Great beer garden. Menu looks good but only called in for sundowners. Nachos were good with a couple of beers! Can't comment on the rooms, but all looks neat and tidy in general.Service: 5/5
