Amazing gig, went to see skindred and P.O.D. the venue is awesome, very atmospheric and nice and easy to get up close and personal. Only thing I will mark it down on are the limited drink options and the fact the queues for the toilet are mega long due to the fact there is only one at ground level so between acts it gets a bit crazy. Apart from that though awesome venue
Good venue, smaller than many which I prefer. Can't comment on the drinks as only had water and was offered free tap water great not to get ripped off Sound was fantastic. Only thing was it was sooooo hot!
Great venue, thoroughly enjoyed seeing Skindred here the other night who are always amazing. Fab quality sound system, large space where you can get a decent view of the stage from pretty much anywhere, lots of toilets so minimal queueing and quick service on the bar too.
Amazing venue! We went to go and see Bears In Trees, and we loved every second of it. There is a full bar, with student deals and discounts. And some limited chairs and tables at the back of the venue. Accessibility is somewhat limited from my experience in that I couldn't see a ramp to enter the building or once you're inside, there's stairs to get onto the main floor. There are ramps within the venue, just leaving some areas inaccessible for some people. Couldn't complain at all about the staff, they were really helpful and nice with all of our needs. Fab venue, would 100% recommend.
Great acoustics compared to the big M/c Arena's. And it has friendly, helpful security & bar staff too. The bar downstairs is lovely with a nice chilled atmosphere
Saw Dragonforce and Amaranthe headline show here and it was a great gig. This is a really good music venue with a decent capacity and really good acoustics. If you walk quickly you can get to Manchester Oxford Road train station in under 15 minutes which makes it a good venue for access. The only thing is if the weather is bad and it is raining heavily there is no shelter while queuing to get in and you will get soaked.
great venue and its nice to see artists play at a non o2 venue as it means you can get a beer for a half decent price! put more gigs on here however be mindful the acacdemy 2 is very small so can get very crowded!
Went to see Tom Walker here. Really good smaller venue, sound quality and lights where great and I only had 5 people in front of me before the stage too so I was fairly close this probably made the experience that little bit better Didn't buy a drink so I can't comment on drinks unfortunately. The only reason I have rated 4 stars over 5 was because there was up to an hours wait before anything started once we were inside so it felt like forever waiting after waiting in the que outside for around an hour too. We left the venue very fast and safely though and still had a great time : Loads of places to eat and drink outside the venue too that are all within walking distance
Went to see Crimson Veil, Lordi brilliant venue, great staff and security. Cracking atmosphere and awesome night of brilliant entertainment
This is a cracking venue, a great sound system, and the stage is up high, so you can pretty much see it from anywhere. The staff were absolutely brilliant, gave out glasses of water to the people at the front when it got hot, and couldn't be more helpful throughout. Really impressed. Thank you.
