Good atmosphere, with a pool table, and reasonable prices for drinks, which were unfortunately sold in cheap plastic cups. Despite playing good tunes, restrictions on noise levels are very tight.
Cheap, fun and all round good atmosphere. Friends staff who are chatty and friendly and make for a good night. Special mentions to Kai for being super helpful and friendly talked me through the entire menu of drinks was super helpful. Very enjoyable night. Thank you to all the staff for a great night and couldn’t have asked for more.Service: 5/5
Waited in the queue only to be told that ‘trackies’ were not allowed. The trousers were not trackers they just had a drawstring. When contested the bouncer became extremely rude. Would understand if this was rev’s de Cuba but it’s not. It’s a pub. A cheap one at that.
The absolute best pub around. Unbeatable prices and the nicest most welcoming staff you could wish for. If you're heading out in Manchester you need to give The Garratt a look.Food: 5/5
I used to come here all the time and it is a very good bar and I still to this day recommend it the only reason for the 1 star is because I was barred because the manager or at least I think she was the manager or a supervisor or something had said I’d been stealing drinks but the drinks I “stole” were actually drinks given to me by friends and she also said that I was messing with customers when most the time I’d be sat on my own and the groups had invited me over to join them, I got just straight up barred for life, it wasn’t a 30 day ban or anything just barred for life, this was about 7-8 months ago and I have repeatedly tried to explain to sed staff member that the drinks I “stole” were drinks my friends gave to me and the people I was “messing with” were either already my friends and if they wanted me to leave them alone they would’ve told me to leave them alone or people who invited me to join there group. I was in fact told that I could come back the next day when I got kicked out so I did as I usually went there after uni and was told that I’m not being served because I’m barred. Obviously I’m quite a unique situation but like I said it’s a very good bar and most of the staff are lovely just for some reason this one staff member just didn’t like me and always seemed quite short with me. I’ve even had my friend who I “stole” a drink from speak to the staff member and tell them he gave it to me and she still said that I stole it. All is good though I don’t have any hard feelings it’s just not very fair that I’m barred for life and nobody is willing to even hear me out or listen to my side. But overall great atmosphere great service and a very good place to start the night if you’re having a night out or just to go for a drink after work or uni.

I've been a regular for sometime but in recent visits I've noticed some staff members becoming very rude and argumentative with customers. They also seem to be extremely relaxed with drug misuse. In one recent visit alone, every trip to the toilets, I would witness open drug taking. A lot students frequent the venue but it does not seem a safe environment.
I crossed paths with a bouncer who not only denied me entry without cause but also permitted others to enter freely. His actions reeked of discrimination and incompetence, leaving me bewildered and deeply offended. It was clear that he relished in exerting his perceived authority, unjustly targeting me while showing favouritism to others. This display of bias and disregard for fairness was not only despicable but also a stark reminder of the injustices that still plague society.
Awful place took my real ID off me without reason said they suspected it to be fake yet I collected it from the police station days later as it was REAL they laughed in my face and pushed my friend when we cried they continued to laugh we had only had a glass of wine each so this was completely unprovoked and so they have not got any reason to have acted that way towards us I will definitely not be returning and would suggest that nobody else does particularly the manger was foul in the way she treated us face like a slapped back side
