About

Kitchen, Bar and Music Hall

Story

" the Deaf Institute has a special feel that justifies its reputation as one of Manchester’s hippest, hottest venues. From the vast array of decorative loudspeakers on the walls behind the bar to the ever-impressive lists of new, breaking and occasionally revered artists in the schedules, it’s a venue that gives the impression that it cares about new and good, usually independent music. Good food and great selection of beer, great music venue and hopefully will be open again soon.
Amazing venue. Excellent decor and atmos. High stage to see the bands. Enclosed Outside smoking area for the puffers. Love the spot but.... 1 bar person for a packed gig. Car park behind was a fiver for the evening which isn't bad considering such handy location. Top Spot.
Great "dirty vegan food". Friendly welcome, great service and amazing food. 2 starters, 3 mains and sides £42. Left with full bellies and money in our pockets.
Loved this place! Came for an 80s and 90s party and the venue was big enough to feel like a club but small enough to still be intimate. I also knocked over my gin and tonic as soon as I bought it at the beginning of the night and they gave me another for free! Really lovely staff and gold environment.
A brilliant venue for an intimate gig upstairs with dream state headlining. With a restaurant downstairs. A perfect location.
Lovely setting and decor, and the food and drinks choices are brilliant. The pricing of the food is kinda ridiculous for what you get though. Would definitely visit again and give the food a second chance - the staff were very nice and helpful, and as I say I loved the atmosphere.
