We came for a lunch and I was really positively surprised by the quality of the food being a French myself. We ordered the beef / fries and trout. They were both very tasty. The fries crusty outside and soft inside, the trout was very tasty with the tomatoes / truffle sauce. All was delicious. I really recommend. It is a bit on the pricey side with dishes above 20 pounds. But it was worth it. The staff is nice and decoration cosy.
Delightful restaurant. Supremely cosy and romantic spot. The food is delicious: all feels very authentic with both French bistro classics and some warming home-recipes. Also, I speak with no hyperbole when I say the frites here are the best I’ve had anywhere… The staff are lovely, always very welcoming and the overall atmosphere is spot on. It’s very reasonably priced too. Overall it’s our favourite local restaurant; I highly recommend.
We were craving some French food and stumbled upon this little gem in Brick Lane. We started with the rillette, which was simply amazing — the flavours were rich and full of depth. For our mains, we had two onglets with fries and lettuce. I have an allergy to mustard, and they kindly made a special dressing just for me, which I really appreciated. The portions were generous, and the food was delicious. For dessert, we couldn’t resist and ordered three: the crepe suzette had a lovely flavour, and the tarte tatin tasted just like something your grandma would bake fresh from the oven — truly handmade and comforting. We also tried the pistachio crème brûlée. While I’m a huge fan of both pistachio and crème brûlée, I personally prefer the original crème brûlée version. At first, we were a little put off by a somewhat cold waiter, but then the owner took over and completely changed the atmosphere. She was so warm and lovely, making the entire experience feel much more welcoming. Highly recommend this place, and we'll definitely be back! Real French restaurant, approved by French and Mexican
Had dinner at this French bistro on brick lane. The place itself is very quaint and the waiters were friendly enough. I was slightly disappointed with the food though, the beef onglet was a bit plain and the fries very oily. I really didn't like the creme brûlée, it was very cold you could tell it was taken out of the fridge seconds before it being served. Overall it was an alright experience but I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place. You can find great French food elsewhere for a similar price!
Fabulous bistro and nice food. Would highly recommend the duck leg, snails, chicken liver, and the lamb though it would be better if the lamb is less salty. And the frog leg is bit small. Anyways people here are friendlyFood: 4/5
Our first visit this evening and what a lovely little restaurant. We have been to France many times, authentic cosy family run establishment with a typical simple French menu, great quality dishes and crisp chilled wine. Loved the decor, ambience & attentive service. Cheese truffle souffle absolutely delicious. Highly recommend a visit.
Wonderful dinner! We had the escargots, frog legs, tartare, and steak, matched with an uncomplicated red. Had a very interesting conversation with our two table neighbors and a pleasant encounter with a Scottish lady. The waitress made sure we had a great experience from start to finish. The tarte tatin was delicious!Food: 5/5
In a charming corner of the city, this restaurant offers an extraordinary culinary experience for vegans and non-vegans. The Onion Soup,Parmentier d'Aubergine, expertly seasoned and garnished with fresh herbs. The flavours and textures harmonize beautifully. The Lemon Sorbet, a tangy and sweet palate cleanser, bursts with vibrant citrus goodness. Both dishes are artistically presented, enhancing the dining experience. The restaurant's dedication to vegan cuisine is commendable, a delicious vegan options. The ambiance is inviting, and the staff is attentive and knowledgeable. From exceptional flavors to impeccable service, this restaurant is a must-visit for vegan and non-vegan food enthusiasts.
Local go to for Steak and Fries with a delicious mustardy side salad. Best steak frites I’ve had in London, arrives quick, no fuss, good selection of easy wines too.Food: 5/5
This is one of the cutest French bistros I’ve been going to for many years. Not one has food disappointed me there. You can enjoy staple french dishes. I enjoyed a double backed cheese soufflé with truffles, the aubergine Parmentier, and the basque cheesecake for dessert. All absolutely scrumptious. I would also suggest trying their pistachio cream brûlée.
