Lovely little wine bar which also serves wine by the glass. We went and were able to get a lovely little seat and watch the world pass by. Great selection of wines!
Great wine selection, you can pay for 50ml glasses to try all the different wines in the shop. Outside seating areas great for people watching
A joyful experience if you love wine, highly recommended. Staff are friendly, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wines. For a newly built venue it manages to look like an old style wine bar, which is rather impressive. The food looks good too and I will update when I have tried.
Great selection of wines from various places. Good opportunity to get into new wines. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Good for post work drinks for catching up with small groups. Only downside was that we saw the staff pour a touched glass of wine back into the bottle after we corrected them that we ordered a bottle of wine.
Excellent winery. If you want to get a fine bottle of wine, this is your place. The quantity and quality is amazing and I haven't even heard most of the brands. I've visited the place a couple of times for special occasions and I've always made a good impression with my wine choice.
I came across this place quite by accident and we only stopped for one glass of wine, but will definitely be back. The wine list looked amazing, with enough rich, robust reds to keep me happy. Staff were friendly and attentive and knew their wines well.The nibbles looked good too, so a return visit to sample some more, and perhaps eat this time, is on the menu. Do get here early though as there is not a great deal of seating and once in, people don't tend to move.
Since Vagabonds closed I discovered Bedales as a new casual spot to have wine by the glass. Part shop, part wine bar, they have a great selection of bottles for purchase. However, I was disappointed and would probably return but in the knowledge that I’ll get a seat but not get more than an average glass of red. I was not particularly impressed with the wine by the glass for the price. I purchased a couple of bottles, great selection and not had value reds, but most were prohibitively expensive so not a great range at the £20 mark. A sign of how their location is leading to high prices but not at great value was their gin. This could be because they’re not expecting people in a wine shop to know their stuff but they had a bottle of King Of Soho retailing for £60 - it’s about £20 / £30 max from most shops. That is a joke!
I find the value proposition very disappointing here. They charge a clear premium for their bottles even if you take away. If you are drinking in, the wait staff know very little about wine service -- I was served a red in a glass that was so warm it was virtually cooking the wine. When I mentioned this, the waitress said that's the way she intended it! Fine if you are desparate for a quick drink, but to be avoided if you are actually looking for a nice glass or a relaxing atmosphere.
I keep buying wine from this shop because it's so close to where I live. Alas, I haven't come across anything I've enjoyed drinking so far. They don't have a good selection and really bad in terms of price/performance. Having completed WSETII, I know a little about wine. I don't think this place does.
Nice place in Spitafields area to drink wines from all around the world or buy them. Modern and cozy decoration in a small shop with terrace and a very kind staff. They serve wines and some good appetizers. Very recommendable.
