I have stayed at the farm twice now and intend to go again, because I am in love with the landscape and have been well looked after by the gracious host. She was friendly and helpful to me and my friends from the first to the last moment with her and the site itself is stunning and peaceful. Can't recommend this place enough.
I stayed at Chantry Farm with a friend and our 2 children as part of our South Downs Way walk. The farm and the shepherds hut's were an idyllic, peaceful, off grid place to stay and spend time getting back to basics and nature. Our host Beki was lovely and her story on how she came to start the farm and campsite is fascinating :- If you are planning a staying in the area or doing SDW then highly recommended!
Located near the crest of a National Trust hill with panoramic views, this campsite is a mix between perfectly rural and a short drive to shops. And the host is very friendly. Although I only walked past, and used their car park for a tiny charge, I would recommend the place and will think about staying there myself.
This is the most beautiful place to stay. I like to stay for a while each year in a shepherd hut in the orchard . The last time was in April this year 2022. The views are stunning and the peace welcome after the stresses and strains of life. Within a short time of arriving I’m listening to the birds and actually looking up at the sky what a joy. Beki is so very helpful with any questions you may have. The facilities are lovely and clean it’s so good to be completely off grid it’s amazing the peace that can bring. I will definitely be there again next year.
Stayed here recently and it was absolutely beautiful! The views are amazing and feel so secluded. Loos we’re some of the cleanest i’ve ever seen in a campsite. The barn owl experience and film is a must! Definitely will stay here again.Rooms: 5/5
A beautiful campsite with an apple orchard, creative and ecological amenities, and a host who is engaging, helpful, and wonderful!
I stayed at Chantry for 5 nights sleeping in my one man tent. I had the most fabulous time wandering around the hills and found Beki to be engaging and giving of her time. I loved the experience of the bush toilets and showering using just a jug of water. Peaceful and friendly!
Chantry farm campsite is a beautiful place to stay close to Brighton and Hove, taxi cost around £18 and took less than 15minutes. By far the best option for us. The composting toilets were clean & well kept. The 9 acre field accommodates just 7 camping spots, nicely spread out. Each site has its own fire area & a wood basket can be purchased on site. Beki was extremely helpful and informative. We will definately stay here again
Just stayed for three nights at Chantry Farm in one of the beautiful Shepherd’s huts. Having just spent three years in the Middle East, where ‘back to nature’ doesn’t exist, I was a bit apprehensive about what to expect, particularly post-Covid. But no need for nerves! Everything was so clean - all the toilets, the bucket shower great fun! and the whole hut. The views from the window are to die for and the whole place has such a great energy. It was warm and cosy at night and the walks around the local area are stunning! I’d thoroughly recommend - and would definitely come back again!
Visited this site with a few friends. Was a lovely experience. The toilets and showers are very clean. Bucket showers are a lovely change from the usual. The lack of cars on site is lovely and wonderful views all around. Beki was lovely and very welcoming. Would recommend.
