This quiet spot is close to some fabulous walking and cycling holiday routes and spectacular views. Set in the South Downs National Park, just inland from coastal towns of Shoreham, Brighton, Hove and Worthing, the hostel provides modern accommodation, ideal for family activity breaks and school trips, plus a pleasant open garden well away from busy roads.

We hired this solely for our group and it's a beautiful location. Set on the South downs way it's a great place to walk some of it in either direction or as we did just a little intrepid walk round Truleigh hill itself (quite a steep slope for little ones!). But plenty of farm animals etc for the littlest ones to spot. The main "living" area has a beautiful view of the sea (weather permitting) and is separated from the bedrooms so if, as we did, you have families the adults can be a bit louder in the evenings without worrying about the kids waking up. The cooking facilities and equipment are pretty basic with the oven ok (Hobs took a while) but a relatively large kitchen to prep in and plenty of crockery etc We all live locally so didn't venture out but it's a great location to some beautiful Sussex villages and of course the coast, Brighton etc.

Great venue for an exclusive hire, especially over Christmas. Even got some snow! Well managed and a fantastic place to stay.

Great location for walking, double room sparse but clean as expected for youth hostel. Staff friendly.

Stopped in for a drink whilst walking along the South downs. They had a variety of food and drinks (tea / soft drinks / beer). The canteen had some great views and was modern and clean. Would happily stay in the hostel.

We rent the whole hostel every year, and the standard is always great. Comfortable and a great location.
