This place should perhaps have 5 stars. It is an old thatched pub. The service is efficient and although my pint was a bit expensive the food prices didn't seem unreasonable. I was there at a busy time and they were coping well. The downside was that the pub had been sanitised to the extent that it could almost have been new and the service was just too professional. It felt like a efficient restaurant rather than a traditional pub
Nice little pub in a nice little village. Food was good but a little bit expensive. The staff were very welcoming and very, very interested in our dog. Didn’t get a chance to stay in the rooms but overall, for a dog friendly restaurant, it was good.Service: 4/5
Lovely cosy pub with lots of lovely features both inside and outside. Whilst staying nearby with my husband for a few nights we visited this pub for drinks on one sunny day and then returned for dinner the day after. The drink selection was very good we had a delicious bottle of South African white wine, the food was very yummy thank you chef and the service was very friendly too : Would definitely recommend visiting if you’re nearby we booked dinner in advance.
Fantastic food and service. We would highly recommend. We had 8 meals and all were cooked to perfection. Add that to decent local drinks and the lovely service we'll definitely go back!Service: 5/5
Slow service, dirty glasses, no ice and no option for cold mixer drinks on tap kit less an overpriced small bottle of lemonade which wasn't cold. Food quality ok but food quantity poor for the price. Staff were friendly but appeared too busy and we were ushered to a table and sat waiting for ages even for a drink. Lovely location but now been there and won't return, sorry. Food & drinks: Warm drinks, no ice or cold mixer options unless you asked, why wasn't this offered given there was no ice. Food ok but not a lot for the money. There was no wow factor.
A lovely place to stay!! The rooms are well sized and nicely decorated with good amenities. The pub itself is really nice - the breakfast is great, lots to choose from and the dinner we had was delicious. The staff are so friendly and really accommodating. Great location to explore the Jurassic coast. Would absolutely stay again!Rooms: 5/5
Absolutely delicious dinner and dessert here. Strongly recommended if you're in the area! Best meal of our two week trip! Also, watch your head on the low ceiling!
Room had a nice decor but unfortunately very small for my husband whose is over 6ft, having to duck the whole time and could barely fit in the shower or sit comfortably on the toilet. The service at dinner was very poor, we were left going almost unnoticed around a corner, they forgot to ask us for drinks and to take any empties off the table. We were informed when we arrived that there was free parking available yet the website says there isn’t so we had paid a small fortune to pay at the cove and then had to walk up to the pub/hotel. We were however pleasantly surprised that breakfast was included after the website said there was a surcharge, however disappointing that our friends who were staying close by were not able to join and pay for breakfast as apparently 1 staff member to complete booking out, taking orders and providing service couldn’t provide it for another 2 guests who were willing to pay extra, pub lost out there. Great food, speedy service and decent price especially for a tourist town. Soup was amazing and so was the onion bhaji. Only issue was the ice in the coke tasted a bit off and the coke was a bit flat. Overall I'd give it an 8/10Rooms: 5/5
Fantastic stay. The food is outstandinding and the staff are all superb. The room was a little on the small side for the cost but was well equipped. It's a lovely place and great location!Rooms: 4/5
