Can only express thanks and gratitude to the Manager and staff at Carrickstone Care Home for the care of our Father/Father in law until his passing on the 25th September in the Eastfield unit. We appreciate the care and love given by both nurses and carers. Was very touching that so many staff came to Jimmys room to say their goodbyes
Shambolic experience with this care home. No communication from them despite 4 days of trying and then being repeatedly palmed off. If you are happy not to have any updates or have proper discussions then this is the care home for you. My relatives assessment was sent to them and it took over 5 days for it to be read and then not given a place without much of an explanation. If my relatives care needs are too difficult, which was the only reason offered, then it would suggest that this is a care home that cannot provide any suitable level of nursing care. My relatives care needs are not high or demanding and I say this as someone with experience in the care sector Fine and entirely their choice as a business however for ppl needing care and a level of communication, this in my opinion, is not a person centred facility at all and best avoided.
Great start when Mum was transferred here following a stroke. Her mobility wasnt affected only her speech and reasoning. She was sent here for rehab only. However it soon went downhill - no rehabilitation even after repeated requests rude staff treating her like a dementia patient and talking to her like a child poor Mum has lost 3 kilos in a week. Also had a mysterious unwitnessed fall and broke her hip as a result. Still waiting on a full report and explanation. Think twice before sending your loved one here on the surface they're lovely however the reality is very different! Can't get Mum out fast enough
I would like to give our total gratitude and love to all of the staff of the balloch wing of carrickstone. Every one of the staff and friends we made there will never be forgotten they are all angels. My mum shirley loved every one of them as did we, we will never forget the care you gave her. Staff and visitors became family. Also thank you Barbara and Stephen for your understanding, soo genuine, love to you all eleanor, raymond, Susan and family
My dad spent his last weeks in the Balloch wing of Carrickstone hospital and the the outstanding care and attention was amazing. All the staff from the doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and auxiliaries treated my dad as if he was their dad , and to me you can’t get any better than that !
