Cannon Street underground station is served by the Circle and district lines there in no disabled access only stairs to the platforms. The ticket hall is wide and big with plenty of ticket barriers to use. There is a coffee shop inside the station down on the platforms its very warm there is no air down on the platforms especially when there is a heatwave. Other than that it's a nice station with the national rail station only seconds away.
I’m going to review the features within this train station and then give my overall review. Starting with: Services: The members of staff within the station are pretty helpful. I find them easy to talk to and especially helpful when I’m looking for information about incoming trains or underground information. The departure boards within this station are also well spread out within each platform in addition to the central departure board that attracts the masses. Size: This station is pretty big and even bigger when compared to the other nearby train stations such as Bank and St Pauls. Its size also allows it to have services within it such as tea and coffee shops within the station in addition to toll-free toilets and an easy access way to the underground. But I like how wide spread the crowds are during peak hours as this reduces the dreaded bottle necking that takes place when trains arrive or depart. Hygiene: Not only does this station look good from the outside and in, but it’s also pretty clean for the most part. You rarely see any rubbish within the station, however, it would be nice if the gents toilets were also held up to the same standard. Summary: This station is pretty awesome. Sure it gets really crowded during the peak times, but the same can be said for all London train stations – it’s just that with this one, it’s usually a lot easier to traverse through the crowds compared to other stations, plus the crowds aren’t all funnelled in a bottle neck either.
It’s been a while since our team used public transport, what delightful surprise yesterday morning when using the Circle Line. The Cannon Street station was spotless, well done to TFL and the team at this station for maintaining this location, it made us feel at easy knowing that we’re in a clean environment considering all that’s been going on in the last 16 months. Thank you TFL and the team at Cannon Street.
Great station, never have any trouble! The staff are lovely and friendly and there are trains usually pretty often.
I could catch a train if they didn't wipe it from the screens before its departure
Hard to have any sympathy over the rain strike when the day after, there’s still no trains because the staff can’t get in, and station staff can be heard bragging ‘yesterday was the easiest day ever worked.’ So basically paid to do nothing ? Whilst we struggled in and and to pay for a hotel room. One star only because minus stars are not an option
In the ways of amenities there are quite a few shops which is always handy. On the whole it seems to be getting better in terms of traffic as well so you're not zombie walking down towards the platform. What I like most about this station however is how clean it is. Considering the footfall that passes through I think they do a wonderful job.
My hotel was just across the road and all the destinations I wanted to visit were within easy reach. Station was clean and staff were seen to be helpful.
The station seemed to be half refurbished with the platforms looking old but a brand new ticket hall with ticket barriers. Directly access to the National Rail platforms are provided via some stairs or a lift. Oddly, there's a lift provided but only for Westbound trains.
A much improved station and getting better every week, with new shops opening. It's always clean and better than travelling from London Bridge since you get a seat more easily!
