Even with the stations platform being lengthened to accommodate for 8 car trains. It is still a run down station which needs to be renewed. The station ticket office and the internal part of the station is only open till the afternoon. After that there is no access to the main building. So the ticket machines are the only way to get a ticket when it's closed. It should really be open untill the evening. Since slot of people have questions about there journey. Also with the main building being closed. It only offers weather cover for one platform. And there is no toilet access when it's closed. So the closest option is inside The Mall.

It always felt just that very bit underfunded every time I passed through on my way to college. I wish they modernised the station a bit with better signage, ticket barriers and more staff.

It's run down and needing a face-lift. Staff were helpful tho. It's a shame no money seems to have been spent here for years. Boards on every platform with clear information.
