I want to sincerely thank the team at Guildford Station for their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. I accidentally left my phone on the train to Guildford and immediately went to the station staff for help. From the very first moment, they were incredibly supportive — helping me call the train staff and making arrangements to have my phone returned.nnAlthough the passenger who found my phone misunderstood the instructions or chose not to follow them and handed it in at a completely different station — Blackwater — the staff at both stations acted quickly. They contacted each other, stayed in constant communication with me, and even arranged for my phone to be brought back by car.nnThroughout the whole process, they made sure I was okay, offered me water, and checked in on how I was feeling. I was genuinely touched and deeply impressed by how much they cared.nnThank you all so much for your support and help — you truly made a stressful situation feel safe and manageable. I’m incredibly grateful.
They provide free station Wi-Fi, which was very easy to connect to. The toilet is located inside the platform area. I just wish that buses from other cities would stop at this station instead of the Friary...
Enjoyed visiting this station on my way to a meeting at Surrey University.nOn the return journey the Cafe is so-so but still at least was not dreadfulnVery clean and tidy and once again the station stuff superb and helpfulnGave it an extra star, really clean and the station staff were really helpful today
Loved the old part of the town & the old castle. Nice walk along the waterside. Some good shopping centres.
Missed my train as the barriers weren’t scanning anyone’s ticket and the staff were making us all use the 1 access gate for going in and out of the station. Spoke to me like I was stupid. My ticket was valid. I get the train every day. Same journey and everything. The barriers obviously weren’t working. They made me stand on the side and demanded to see my railcard several times even after showing my ticket like everyone else. I was just trying to get my railcard up and the woman and man were very rude to me. He said that I should have bought a ticket. I showed him my return ticket and he said whatever and rolled his eyes. Had to run for my train and still missed it. Quite clearly racially motivated as the white passengers were being waved through. Not the first time I’ve had this experience with the man specifically and it’s the second time I’ve been brought almost to tears. How embarrassing. Surely they should be trained on dealing with customers and maybe employ people who aren’t as racially prejudiced, or at the very least aren’t so obviously blatant about it.
