Do not get a Hammam treatment here. Room to bright cold and wet towel on you. Also hear everything in the spa as it’s a room within the spa. It’s not a Hammam it’s a body scrub. Far too expensive for a body scrub. When booking I didn’t know what to pick. No one asked about my treatment or asked what it was I was looking to expect. I am a massage therapist and every time I get a booking I ask my clients why did you book this treatment what you looking to achieve so I know they booked the right thing and their expectations are met. I emailed Matthew manager and his customer service is shocking, he said I was unhelpful and unprofessional seeing as I was a therapist. The complaint was about them not me! The therapist was lovely no complaint about her at all she only done what she was supposed to do but the room is cold bright noisy wet towel on you bed not heated just not a “relaxing” experience that Matthew said I booked in for. Please don’t waste your money. Cheaper getting a flight to Turkey for a Hammam. I booked this for myself and my partner but my partner couldn’t make it, he had a sudden family bereavement and they wouldn’t refund his treatment. I drove 62miles for this as I paid £360 and I wish I just never bothered. The way Matthew handled my complaint was shocking saying he’s shocked he’s not had a complaint before. So basically that meant mines was invalid because no one else complained. Obviously clients haven’t experienced an Hammam before and that’s why they get away with a body scrub treatment. Spa is lovely, not complaining about this. Just the Hammam. For a company who takes full payment when booking and doesn’t let you cancel with a refund or move the treatment 10 days before appointment rings alarm bells. If you need terms and conditions like that then that to me shows you aren’t confident in what you sell.
Pros - Claire at reception was lovely, attentive and welcoming. Younger colleague who took over was not very helpful. Food was amazing. Spa was one of the best I have been too! Treatment was also very good and professional.nnCons - I am 31 weeks pregnant and called reception asking for more pillows for comfort due to pregnancy and all I was brought was two small cushions. Therefore I had to use my partners. Bed was not comfortable at all, we did not have a great night sleep. Loud noise coming from another room also. Bath was not cleaned, hairs all over it. We had booked a table for dinner but when showed up they said we had not. Was quite awkward.
Had a wonderful relaxing afternoon here on 11th February where we used the Spa Facilities and had Afternoon tea. Staff were lovely and couldn't be more helpful. Spa facilities were superb with a good variety of steam rooms, pool etc.nAs we did not stay overnight I cannot comment on the rooms but what we did see of the venue was spotlessly clean with beautiful decor.nnAfternoon Tea was delicious. I love good old breakfast tea which I had but there numerous flavoured teas available and coffee of course. Lovely selection of sweet and savoury items which were very fresh. We were provided with a box to take food home and the food was still lovely and fresh 4 hours later. We were fortunate enough to have received vouchers for our day out but I certainly hope to return again and will have no hesitation paying for it myself as it is certainly great value for money. I can recommend this for solos, couples, families air groups of friendss. I would feel very comfortable on my own.nnFinally, the location of the hotel is ideal whether driving directly there yourself or using public transport with the railway station being across the road.
We had a spa day with afternoon tea and followed by a meal in the new lounge room and the service was excellent. The facilities and treatments were amazing. Simon looked served us in the restaurants and he couldn’t have done more for us, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you very much Simon, you made our day!
I went for an afternoon tea at the spa. The spa area itself is beautiful. Several saunas and steam rooms to choose from. Felt totally relaxed at the end of the session. I agree with a previous comment that some kind of water fountain would be good.nI have to say that the ladies changing rooms aren't great. There was 6 of us in there trying to get changed. We had to wait for showers only 2 and wait for a bench to put clothes on to get changed. A bit disappointing when the spa itself has had money spent on it.nThe afternoon tea was lovely and having a choice of so many teas was great. A couple of things let it down though. We got the tea no cups so had to ask, then had to ask for milk and lemon as they weren't offered. We also asked 3x for water before we got some.
