Hawksmoor Air Street

Walked in on a cold, snowy evening without reservation. Front desk was able to find us a seat at the bar area fairly quickly. We decided on a fish, rump steak and lobster mac and cheese. The best part of the meal was the lobster mac and cheese - totally hits the spot every single bite. Got to say.. I was disappointed by the steak, given the rave reviews that I've read/heard. The staff attending to us was quick to offer to change a steak for us but we declined; good service recovery though. Fish was alright. Found the presentation of the food strangely basuc, especially for this high-end restaurant - each item was simply served plainly on a plate. The fish and steak kinda looked lonely on their respective plates.

Visited on Xmas Eve. Service was very good - staffs were all very helpful and friendly but a little slow and it's somewhat difficult to get someone to attend to us. But when they do they are very friendly, cheerful and helpful. Can't fault them at all - that's for sure. Food portion was generous, but in terms of quality I found it to be very average. There are many other better roasts out there... The beef was very chewy, the bone marrow was alright but the portion was too generous - could do with smaller portions? Cauliflower was amazing, sadly a bit too cold then it arrived like it had been cooked in bulk and left aside for a long time... Could be better.

Great atmosphere. Amazing drinks. I had a custom build cocktail based on ingredients I liked and it was really good. Food was good - portions are fair size. We will come again to try new things. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and how things should be done.

Visited to celebrate a 70th Birthday - a wonderful and memorable experience. The atmosphere and service were really great, with that classic 1920’s Hawksmoor vibe and a team who were very attentive and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. We all had the Porterhouse steak it was absolutely delicious - highly recommended.

Great atmosphere and location. Nice table setup and selection, partial view of the street. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Food was quite good. Appetizers were the highlight of the meal, the potted mackerel was premium. Scallops were above average and presentation was great, only 3 scallops though. The wine that was recommended was very good and reasonably priced. Our main dishes (serloin and turbot) were quite tasty but the presentation was non-existent. For the price I expected more than just a piece of meat on a plate. Overall good experience, gratuity is added at 12.5%. two apps, two glasses of wine, and two mains cost over £130.
