I've been going here for a few years now, the past year each time I've gone it's not been a good experience. They messed up my glasses prescription making my lazy eye worse then each person I spoke to said something different and it wasn't a kind atmosphere, it's still not been sorted. I have since been for my contact lens check up and they tried to make me pay it's free for me, there's a clear lack of communication about what the regulations/protocols are and how to deal with eye stigmatisms
Very poor customer service and really disappointed. I was refused and sent away from my appointment after arriving only 6mins late. They didn't even bother to try or took any effort to accommodate me.
Absolutely happy with the service at Boots Optician on Market Street, Manchester. All of the staff are very professional, but at the same time friendly and most importantly helpful. They made me feel comfortable, answered all of my question and were extremely good and careful when doing my tests. I reccomend this optician 100% !!!
Well equipped and hardly any crowd . But staff are not updated well about different offers. Otherwise fine.
I had booked an appointment to check my contact lenses. When I get there they told me they couldn’t see me because I hadn’t brought in my current contact lenses prescription, I hadn’t worn my contacts long enough and and should’ve been wearing them for longer than two weeks. All understandable, but they never let me know any of it when I booked the appointment. They also said I should’ve had a phone consultation, which I never had and they never informed me about. They had all my contact details, but communication was poor. Overall they just made me waste my time. I have had to book another appointment, hopefully it will be sorted by then.
Don't make the same mistake as me - buy independent for much cheaper pricing and much better service. At Boots: Mid range designer frames: £180 Scratch resistant coating: £50 Lens thinning: £60 Total: £290 At Ace and Tate or most independents: Higher quality designer frames, all extras free: £98 Total: £98 Sold me frames that are designed so that if an arm breaks its impossible to replace, even with spares. These frames broke for seemingly no reason likely planned obsolescence 3 weeks after I got them, the arm just fell off as I wore them, and I had to pay full price for replacements wish I just walked then. I was told they broke because I took them off with one hand. Have been wearing glasses for 10 years without this issue and it wasn't mentioned to me when I first got them. I later went in and asked for my prescription so I could buy glasses from an independent shop - I was warned by a manager they could make a mistake with the lenses, since their store isn't staffed by trainee opticians. Now receiving my new independent shop glasses I've found the opticians at Boots had in fact made a mistake with my old lenses, and I hadn't found out because I had nothing of the same prescription to compare. Worse of all is the pricing, £192 more expensive! Ace and Tate also have 30 day refund and 1 year replace including normal use damage guarantee, compared to 0 days for both at Boots. I'm necessarily saying buy Ace and Tate, there's lots of independent glasses shops Bailey Nelson, Eye Respect, Archibold... and honestly I didn't shop around much, some are probably better. I just urge you to avoid this scam. Get your eyes tested here fine, but you can get far better service for less than half price on frames and lenses elsewhere. I wish I knew this before I went here.
Absolutely shambolic. Just a bunch of amateurs. Avoid at all cost. You’ll be waiting at the reception for ages without even being acknowledged. My eye test was an hour behind schedule! They said they would need to order my contact lenses for the trial and would give me a call when they come in. As expected, nobody called me. I had to come in to find out that they have the lenses and can book an appointment. The first one available was in 3 weeks time! To make it even worse when I came in 3 weeks later, I was told that someone did not book it through the system properly so I should book it again! After fitting the contact lenses they scheduled a follow up appointment, which they now cancelled... Every single thing that could have gone wrong has gone wrong. Not a single apology given.
Had to attend this optician for an “emergency appointment” during COVID pandemic. It was obvious that they are running on minimal staff, but I felt safe and looked after. The optician Sana was very pleasant and did her upmost to help me during very challenging times. She also provided advice and a follow up telephone call as promised. Happy to be impressed particularly in these difficult times .
The glasses are mixed for men and women. So you’d have to scramble looking for the mens or women glasses, you’re going to spend more time trying to figure out which are which before you can decide what you want to wear. Quite a hassle. Which they could just make it separate
I saw Thanusha who was excellent and I had a very thorough eye test. She explained everything to me very clearly and was so helpful. Would highly recommend!
